Exactly... a few members on the VMC have got orders in, one new member installed but said fitment was a bit off. Hoping it was an exception and that this isn't cheap flimsy material. I'm gonna hold off and wait for a few more reviews to come in.... but is on my list of soon to be purchased pieces if it ends up being a reasonable piece.

That's nice but unless it works with the brake light they can keep it. I feel that too many lights in the trunk area and people behind don't pay attention to actual brake lights. IMO.

The photo shows it on a vision.

Don't get me wrong but why do we buy things that advertises a company name? Look at all the T shirts hates and so on that has some ones name or logo on them and we pay to walk around and tell others.
Shouldn't they pay us to advertise for them instead of us paying them.

Under the assumption that the trunk is same size on all years... I'd say yes. But I don't have specific measurements from each year.

we can agree on somethings john, I do this one.

But let the rest have their fun. I'm probably the lone wolf of the lone wolves. I used to sport the Victory patch on my vest now I just wear a few t-shirts. The advertisement is in the riding and I'm too lazy to add anything else unless it has function, not bling. But I am impressed they would have this and hope the fitment works out. They could have put effort toward the backrest and rack, but what do I care, I've got mine.

You all ride safe, you hear!

It's nice but it burns me that it's $20.00 more in Canada even when our dollar has been trading higher than the green back. The shipping cost excuse is a crock too. We just get beatup on everything, even the stuff made up here costs us more that it's sold for south of the border.
Don't mind me, I'm just venting, I don't even really want one and no I don't want to move south to warmer climes I still love being a Canadian.

Wouldn't be hard to tap into the brake wires to get it to light us with brakes. Can someone post a pic with lights off? How's it look? Many of us have been saying we wanted this for quite some time. Looks like Papa Polaris does lurk on these sites!

I also posted this over at the VMC, so apologies if you've had to read my BS twice!!

For those that haven't seen it, the new trim is about 1/2" deeper at the middle point to make room for the LED circuit board, so the angles are a bit steeper to return into the trunk lid bodywork. Quite different from the stock trim.

All said, I am very happy with this item . . . your mileage may vary!!

It was easy to install. The instructions say 45 min but it took me longer. Now that I have done it once, I could do it in 45 min. Something to ponder.....you are to drill a 1/2" hole. I instead thought I would just enlarge the pilot hole already there, but it didnt work out so I had to drill another hole after all.
Another member told me after removing his mirror he put it back together with hinges on the bottom and a plate on top that had a screw in it so mext time the mirror wont have to come completly off. I went today and got some hinges and think I will velcro the top.

It is just a decoration light, I can't see why it couldn't be blue. It has no function other than decoration. I need to do mine in blue also, that I feel is a must.

Blue would be a bad idea in Florida.
316.2397 Certain lights prohibited; exceptions.?
(2) It is expressly prohibited for any vehicle or equipment, except police vehicles, to show or display blue lights. However, vehicles owned, operated, or leased by the Department of Corrections or any county correctional agency may show or display blue lights when responding to emergencies.

They really have no sense of humor about that down here. The "tuner" cars with the blue LED washer fluid nozzles on the hood used to get stopped all the time. I got pulled over for "displaying red or blue lights" in the rear deck of my car. I have a permit for red lights. My strobes were not even on.
i put them on the Vision to escort Ground Zero steel from Daytona to Bradenton last year.

many states do NOT allowthe blue light in the rear.. years ago they had those blue dots you can put in your brake light and in pa they started cracking down on them!

Now which one of you guys hasn't seen a GoldWing going down the road with 1000 lights on it and many have blue LEDs all over them. A blue dot in the tail light is different as it is in the actual turn signal and/or brake light itself.

The base price is probably the best you'll see anywhere, then add shipping  (to me was $10-$13 depending on method)... this puts it right back at retail.  I get 10% off at my dealer due to chapter affiliation and don't pay shipping (just local sales tax)... so all in all, it's a wash and I might as well order from dealer and get store credit on top of it all (percentage of all my purchases add up that I can use towards future goodies and/or labor costs... much like a rewards card).

Mystery solved concerning LED pr not!

The lighting source is indeed a 7.75" x .25" 17 custom LED strip mounted at the top of the letter lens. What's interesting is that the LEDs are custom spaced so that they are positioned precisely at the tops of the letters to get proper light piping effect (for example 1 LED each at the tops of each branch of the Y).

The light unit is comprise of three parts: 1) aluminized reflective housing 2) clear "Letter" lens and 3) the LED board. This whole assembly is screwed and siliconed/glued into the outer chromed bezel. Taking apart was not too difficult. I used to work for a major automotive lighting manufacturer, so taking this apart didn't scare me too much . . . plus if I destroyed it, what's another $100???Can't tell yet if the lens and housing were sonic welded or epoxied together . . . either way would be tough to separate.  There are no snap tabs / screws or fasteners to be able to easily get these apart.  Maybe my Dremmel will work?

Why did I do it? I'd really like to see it with Blue LED's or with the multicolor changing ones I use in my engine compartment. I know it may be illegal for on road use, but anything that helps me to be seen (and looks cool to boot) is worth the risk of a minor fine.

Now if I can just a blue LED strip this small.

Got mine installed and took it for a ride tonight! This is a pretty cool accessory and adds some inexpensive Bling to the back of my bike. Lots of positive comments from passersby. I have ordered two additional Wizard led pods. These are the kind that change colors with the press of a key fob. Have them on my e fine compartment. I will mount to back of housing on the Victory letters so that they will change color and fade in and out with lights on engine. I may also run some wire back so I can switch on and off the normal red LEDs for highway use. Another winter project to get this new accessory multiple colored. What a hobby!

Purchase from Dealer (2012 catalog), Direct from Polaris via web link - see 1st posting of this thread, or Ebay.... your choice.

Concerning making this a brake light too, do you think that running a wire from the pink/white brake light wire up to this light and just tapping in would make it a brake light as well? Similiar to Songfan's 99 LED Trunk Brake Light Install. Or if you had already installed Songfan's 99 LED, could you just run a jumper wire over to the 99 LED wire and tap into it there? Is it possible? Any flaws in this theory?

Funny. About 6 months ago I was talking to a friend of mine and we were debating the best way to cut out the "victory" and replace it either with clear epoxy or plexyglass so I could light it up. And now, it's all done in (IMO) a pretty inexpensive package.

I'm thinking use it as a running light, keep the 99 LED as brake light, and I've already turned the trunk lights into turn signals. And then I think I'll be all set and visible up top.

What do you have to disassemble to install it (the illuminated Victory trunk bar)? I did the 99 LED mod around the back lip of the top trunk and would hate to have to remove it; to install this new illuminated Victory logo...

I had it installed today- many fitment issues, took about 75 minutes.

I think it looks great on the back, can't wait to see it at night.

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago (they didn't know about it in the UK so guess I have the first one) and fitted it just now. Like you I have the 99LED system as well. If you follow the Victory instructions you will have to disconnect the LEDs first. But there is no need to, remove the side lights either side of the chrome victory sign, remove the trunk inner lid making sure you have propped up the lid itself as you will disconnect the wire that stops it opening too far. the passenger back rest also comes off and the black plastic either side of the lights. Drill the hole where the instructions say. Once this is done its all plug and play then rebuild, really shouldn't take 45 mins but allow 1 hour to be careful.

Looks great with the 99LED and I prefer it as a running light.

Hey guys, this works great! Worth the money! I rewired the trunk to allow me to use it as a third break light. It fits my '08 Vision with no fitment issues.

I like adding anything to make myself more visible, and have to agree that too many running lights may detract from the stop/turn lights. I also would like to know if anyone has successfully implimented this as brake light. I think ideally, it would be a running light, and flash brighter for brakeing. Any thoughts or successes on this? Do existing run/turn/brake controllers handle this?
