I'm looking for some help from our fellow englishmen from across the pond. The wife and I looking for a tour company that rents bikes or rents bikes with a leader and support vehicle. 5 to 7 day tours? Also what is the best time of year for good weather in England?? Also any suggestions of what part of your country is best to ride in your opionion so any help would be great. Thank you for your time in advance.

September/October turn out ok for riding, As for the best part of the country it depends on what you are looking for? you will find good riding in most areas, sightseeing may influence your choice though? I can't help much about touring companies, maybe John will chip in here, I will ask on another forum for you as there is someone who does a lot of touring and see if they can help recommend. Hope you do make it over and maybe we can arrange to meet somewhere for a nice cup of English tea.

Posts: 12 Leicester, England | Hi Chuck, had a friend over fromTexas a few years back. After his 2 week summer vacation, his parting words were "now I know why the Brits are always talking about the weather" Duane had seen everything but snow in 2 weeks!
I would sugest spring or fall for a visit and if not already done will post on the Victory OC site for help. There are a few companies that hire out bikes, but not sure about Victories.
What do you want to do,are you a country guy or a city guy, we are a small island but have all sorts of options, just don't try and do it all in 7 days.
Being brought up in the north east i would recommend Northumberland - great roads, coastline and history (more castles than any other county). You could start in Newcastle and end in Edinburgh (Scotland) and have a great time. You will get lots of offers to meet up for a cup of tea, as above, so plan lots of comfort breaks.

Still have family up North, Dad in Gosforth and sister in Corbridge.
On;ly had the Vegas 10m weeks, so haven't taken it up yet, but that is a weekend to plan.

Posts: 639 Tri Cities, WA | Thanks for the response so far. I have been doing some research on rentals and tour companies. so far the bike rentals seem tuff. I will ride anything but prefer a cruiser of course but lik I said will ride what i have to.
Withavee: thanks for the help I like a little both country and city. I would like to see as much as we can in 7 days. We prefer open roads, coastline and the castles sound great. I like the idea of starting out in the UK and end it in scotland. So thanks again for the help and any help from others are always appreciated.

Posts: 12 Leicester, England | Hi Chuck
First lesson - UK = United Kingdom
England + Northern Ireland + Scotland + Wales + a few small islands = UK
Ifyou start in Newcastle you will be in England and end up in Edinburgh which as you say is in Scotland.
It's a bit like you guys with USA and Cananda, the sort of thing that will help when you visit your first tea house or pub.
Hire companies:
Harleys are easy, http://www.eaglerider.com/?gclid=CJrwneb2sqoCFUMf4QodvGn89Q = $1500 for 7 days, pick up in Newcastle
A Gold wing here http://www.motorcyclehireuk.com/ at about $1200 for 7 days.
Enjoy
