NC | New to the site and I can't seem to find my post or post that I reply to. I don't see it under User CP or my messages. I sent the webmaster a message and haven't yet gotten a reply. Is there something that I don't have set up to subscribed to my threads and ones I respond to? |

and if your question is more related actual view from the forum screen, I know of no way, maybe miles or jeff can add that feature.

NC | I have yet to figure out how to subscribe to forums that I reply to or create. I see a Mass subscribe\unsubscribe under the change password box but I've clicked on it and it doesn't seem to do anything?
I have just been using the advance search recommended by Jeff above, and looking up my user name to find post that I've replied to but I never get a notification if a reply has been given from another user. Anyone help me get setup right so I can see all the post that I've commented on and so I'll get a notification of replies? Thanks. |

West Chester, PA / 08 VVPT | I use this same software on a couple of sites that I administer. Mass subscribing has to be turned on in the forum software. Same thing for following threads.
I will take a guess that they did not turn on those features because they eat up bandwidth and system resources. Lets say 3000 users each follow a thread, every time someone replied to that thread, the system would send out 3000 emails. If 20 people replied to the thread in one day, that would be 60,000 email.... for one thread. Now multiply that by all the threads that people follow and you can see the number get read big real quick.
Another issue is that sending a large amount of emails is a fast way to get your domain black listed.... Take it from me, that is a pain in the rear to get fixed.
Again, I am just guessing.

NC | So no one on this site is able to subscribe to threads they start or have replied to? I can get past not getting an e-mail notification but when I log on and have to spend time searching for the last post I started then that is very non-user friendly. |

New Bohemia, VA | if you go to the cp it is below the signature box and has the "receive email notification" or something like that. The choices are yes, no or BBS default. If you still can't find it, I'll post a step by step screen shot for you. |

It is whatever the forum default setting is, which is currently set to NO.
You can override that setting by choosing Yes or No for yourself. |
