Posts: 48 East Tennessee | My 2010 Vision came with the 2 year factory warrany. It expires April 2012. Called my local dealer to inquire about buying the extended warranty. Cost with tax was $654.00. That will give me 3 additional years full coverage. Pays 100% parts & labor with a $50 deductable. Do you think this would be a wise investment or a waste of my money ? |

I have the extended warranty and haven?t needed it, but have not heard great things when people do. Seems to depend on your dealer relationship as to how good it is.

Posts: 172 Prescott, Az | I had a fork seal get approved on my 08 Vision under extended warranty. Many miles later I had fuel lid fail so I could not "Fuel It". They fixed it under ExWarr. Recently I had the rear plastic half of my FRONT FENDER FALL OFF! and it locked up my steering. Luckily I was only doing 20mph in a straight line so I was able to stop safely. Minutes before I was in high speed curves. Ex Warr denied the claim! They said it was a cosmetic thing. The fender costs $80. As far as I am concerned Ex Warr is a crap shoot, however I'm still glad I have it. I did learn to check my bike out closer as I got lax having such a worry free scooter. Someone needs to make a metal real half of the front fender. Besides it would good painted to match your bikles color. I just passed 46K miles.

Posts: 447 Cleveland, GA | Purchased the four-year extended warranty when I bought my 08 in Aug 07 and glad I did (only had a 1-year standard warranty back then).
I have 45,000 miles on the bike and have used the extended warranty to replace the headlight assembly when water got into the HID; currently replacing the front cylinder where porous casting caused a small oil leak; several flash updates to the radio; broken wire to one heated handgrip; replaced windshield due to crack from retaining bolts; replaced fuel cap; replaced fuel gauge sensor/float assembly when it became stuck; replacing sticking rear brake light switch. |

| That price is too high and the GE extended warranty is $0 deductible. Sounds like the dealer is trying to sell you something other than the polaris approved which goes through GE credit. I paid $400 for 4 years of extended and there are a number of dealers that sell it for much less, even saw it being sold on ebay so shop around.
One final word on the extended warranty.... It only cover breakdown. So if your starter packs it in, headlite fills with water, etc.... those things are covered. However if the chrome chips off your pipes or something of that nature, it won't be. In other words go over your bike with a fine tooth comb before the 1st year warranty expires as the 2nd year of the two year is actually the GE warranty, not factory. |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | look into the details about the warranty, who's backing it and is through polaris. I think my 3 year extended warranty was around $600 which I took on my last available from the 1yr original warranty. Glad I did when the fuel pump failed last year. I've never been an extended warranty person because usually the cost of any repair is less than what I would have paid for the warranty. With the fuel pump I broke even. |

| GE credit does up to 5 years, some others will cover bikes even longer, BUT you need to be real careful about reading the fine print. Some only cover the bike work at your local dealer and others only cover very limited stuff which can leave you holding the bag for hundreds or thousands in cost runovers. |

Dealers have told me that, once your original one year warranty has expired you cannot buy any further extentions. |

That's probably true, and makes sense. Anytime you sell a warranty you run that risk . |

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | Here in Western Canada - I paid $1500 for the extended deal. When my fuel release failed (couldn't open the fuel flap with the key) - they refused coverage - cost me $200 to repair.
What I see here is that coverage depends on the mood of the person who approves/disapproves. Got laid that morning, that kind of thing .....
