I rode to the top of Pikes Peak and then headed north to Idaho Springs, CO.

I left Idaho Springs 4:00 am Thursday morning and had decided to try another IBA ride on the way home. I'm cheap, I didn't want to pay for a motel.

I rode 1083 miles and made it home in 18 hours and 47 minutes. This was IBA ride #8.

The numbers from the ride home-

congrats, do they have an award for the most IBA's.

How do you keep your butt from falling asleep? I have traveled that same distance in about the same time but my butt does not enjoy the torture. Rest of the body fine, but it is like my butt winds up with pressure points on the muscles, like I'm ridin and old seat that crosses the frame rails and the two bars under the seat you can feel. Maybe that makes sense.

I can't explain why I am able to ride as long as I do.
I do workout a lot before the long rides including 60 sit-ups a day for months.

So...........the secret to the Iron Butt is to have an iron gut? Dude, I'm feeling a little cheated.

I was certain that the secret would be something more esoteric - like the lessons you were supposed to draw from an episode of Kung Fu.

You know "the journey is within, Grasshopper" or "to succeed you must strive not to strive to succeed" or "the Buddha is in the second hall closet on the left"

But you're telling me all those High School PE teachers were right!
"Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Jones!
"Suck it up you Maggots!"

Crap!

I suppose you think, Pyle, that if God wanted you a$$ on top of that wall he would have miracled it up there, eh?

Physical fitness does play a solid key, but apparently ChickenLittleMan and InternetFolicalMan has other issues. I suffered the Ican'tsitforlongonamotorcycleseat syndrome when I rode the Wing, truly an iron butt feat for that machine to go 1,000 miles in a day. The Vision on the other hand is the most comfortable chair I have. Perhaps you all can look into a couple of things; one, find the most comfortable position and tune out any other discomfort that might come along and make yourself go the distance. If it's pressure points that is causing numbness perhaps you should consider a leatherseat. That make a world of difference on the Wing because leather does not stretch, but maintains a consistant and even distribution of the cushion. The Vinyl stretches and will cause uneveness in the cushion.

Other than, take a couple of aleve's before you hit the road and deal with it you maggots...
