This is one of those things that would not be admissible in a court of law, but I had a discussion about the bags with a polaris rep. He brought us some interesting points that would make a new Vision, improbable, not impossible in regards to the bags. Consider the efforts behind the Vision, and the amount of $$$ poured into the project. It would take much $$$ to get back into that effort to design and retool just to satisfy the few who doesn't like the bags. An interesting note is that Vision sales increased AFTER the introduction of the CrossBikes and are selling as well if not better than expected. In other words, why change a good thing.

This supports what I heard in the past as well by someone close to the inside that the Vision is what it is and stands to live on its current merits. But personally I don't rule out some changes in the future, just not likely for 2012, but we shall see in just a couple weeks, now won't we.

While the Vision bags are smaller in comparison to other bikes, I don't think that is enough of a reason to change them out. The bike is great just the way it is and could stay this way for years as far as I'm concerned.

I don't really have a problem with them either. I have all three pieces of soft luggage and pack everything I need into them.

I don't have a problem, never have, never will. I ask about any word on the 12's and redesigns which he said he don't for sure but not likely. Victory is more concern stablizing in the midst of gains than they are in reworking what is already working. But just like the rest of us he doesn't know about what is new for '12.

I was the same as many I suspect, when it come to the size of the saddlebags. Then I looked at it in a different way, what is the actual size of the saddlebags? They are almost the size of the current Goldwing bags, they just appear small because of the size of the body panel that covers it up is huge.

I have found that by using different sizes of camping bags, I can departmentalize my travel gear, etc... into bags and pack my side bags with no problem. I have a bag for rain gear, one for tire repair (compressor etc...), first-aid kit/emergency kit, a bag for bunges and cargo nets. That's the right side. Then I keep my gloves, a hat, a clean towel on the left side. There is still room for more stuff in the left side. I use the trunk for my helmet, and easy access stuff. I'm on a four day trip starting this weekend. (V2V) We'll see how it all works, but I don't see any problem with storage so far.

Hey, alot of people know I've complained about the size of the saddle bags on this forum, not so much about the tourpack it's is fairly big. I just solved my storage problem with a luggage rack. I love the style AND performance of my Vision. The chances of them retooling to make the bags bigger are very small because they sell enough as is and if Polaris/Victory learns anything from Harley Davidson it'll be this: Don't change things at expense to the company if the model is selling well......................

I have never had a problem with the size of the side bags. Had two "Blue Jugs" that I picked up at AutoZone, in one bag the other day. They have always seemed well sized to me.

One problem I could see with making them bigger is that the bigger the bag, the more people will stuff in them. The more stuff means more weight. The more weight means more structure. And so on it goes, yet still too small for some.

The Vision's saddlebags could be bigger, but they're sufficient for two people and 9 days on the road. We've taken several trips with another couple who ride a GL1800. Two of the trips were 9 days each. The Vision's bags are aren't as easy to pack as the Goldwing's, but we took just as much stuff on our Vision as they did on their Goldwing, and we all carried hot and cold weather gear, since our trips included temperatures ranging from 103 in Kansas to 40 in Montana, wet to sunny. The trunk volume of the two bikes are about equal. The Goldwing's saddlebags are just a little bigger than the Vision's. The openings of the Vision's saddlebags are smaller than the actual interior, making them harder to use, and appearing to be smaller than they really are. That part should be redesigned, making the openings the same size as the interior.

On paper, the Goldwing's bags are bigger, but in the real world it's not that much difference. The Goldwing's are easier to use though, since the opening matches the interior.

If they would have deigned the hands better and had the saddle bags opening at the top there would have been a ton of room.
We seam to forget the bike is only designed and tires can only carry so much weight.

I agree that the openings should be a bit bigger but we use the Victory luggage and it isn't a big deal.

last week when i was installing my new rotor on my rear wheel i had the Vision on the sears jack and i was able too look under the Bags and i thought to myself. HOW in the hell would they ever be able to Add more space withOut completely changing the rear end of the bike. the bags barely miss the rear wheel up inside. Alot of people that ask to see my bag storage always say the samething... (very deceiving).. i never need the extra room when i ride solo, but now that i am getting ready to take a 2 up trip i find myself saying, HOW??? i dont have a trunk rack and refuse to spend $500-$600 for something that says not to exceed 5lbs.

We just did 10 days - 5,400 km - two of us to Grand Canyon. NO PROBLEM - using Vision bags. The only thing on the rack was a nice bag containing rain-gear and the Vision bike cover. Co-Pilot washed undies and whatever in the Best Western sink and dried stuff overnight - I think twice.

Trunk had my Sleep-Apnea air pump, computer, footwear, purse, hats, misc. We had Hi-Def Hard Drive camera, Sony SLR, GoPro Hi-Def, and 2 Sony Cyber-shots.

DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' TRAILER !!! With the cross-winds we had of over 50 MPH - would have blown the whole mess into a tumbleweed patch.

Maybe 'cuz we're both so damned good lookin' - we don't need to pack all the make-up and junk some people just can't travel without ....

HA! I'm going to use that line on the wife.
Well, at least she's good looking.
And I'm so ugly there's no use trying to hide it.
