Posts: 127 OHIO | I've yet to do this, and think it is really cool! Like others have said, "factory should have done it". I have no problem tearing into my bike as I have before. Couple of questions I have: Is there any sequencing mod out there that uses the the trunk lights also? I ride half the time with trunk. I would like to do the mod while incorporating the trunk lights also, or at least have them function as brake/turn signals also. I have a new Kury 4710 here never used. Anybody have sequencing tail/turn signals with your trunk lights functioning also???? Thanks, |

| RedDog,
Look up the original thread on this as I asked the same question about integration with my currently installed 4710. I forget exactly what he said but bottom line was he believes they can be integrated. I need to follow up on this too as I really want to install this mod as well. |

Posts: 741 Central New York | Not having ever used the Kury 4710, I am not sure what it does. I can see by the data sheet I downloaded from the manufacturer's web site, it takes an input from the taillight. left signal, right signal, brake light, and ground. I can't discern what it produces. What you have available after the sequencing signal mod is: at the trailer takeoff pigtail, Left Signal, Right Signal, Taillight, and Ground. The signal taps originate from the LOWER bulb feed on the respective side. Meaning, anything hooked to it will flash with the LOWER bulb. The sequencing mod routes the brake signal through the signal circuit. (just ans a standard trailer hookup does) My assumption is that if the 4710 were hooked up without the brake feed wire, the trunk lights would operate exactly as the lower taillight bulb on the respective side. But then you would also have the same effect if the 4710 were eliminated and the trunk were wired in directly. If the 4710 flashes the brake lights in the trunk, you would have to feed the brake input to get that effect. For this you would have to tap the white/pink wire GOING INTO pin B of the main-to-taillight harness connector. My only concern with that approach would be a possible confusing look to the rear of the bike when the sequencing taillights "burst" and the trunk lights "burst" in a different manor. It may be worth a try, but picturing it, I think the trunk lights would be better sync'ed to the lower taillight. I hope this helps some, it's all I can offer. Hopefully, someone more schooled in the 4710 will chime in with some input.

Posts: 127 OHIO | Thank you both for the info. I think I will contact Gary @ www.vision-mod.com and see what he has to say. I may end up buying his harness and selling my Kury 4710. I just thought it would be neat to have the trunk lights work with the brakes lights, or turn signals, in conjuction with the sequencing taillight. Since my trunk sits in the garage a lot, I guess it is a moot point. |

Posts: 92 Fort Walton Beach, FL | I just installed the Kuryakyn 4710... my trunk lights now operate as run/turn/brake lights and are coordinated with the lower lights... the "flash" is a simple plug-in, which I unplugged. You can't just direct wire the trunk lights with the regular lights... the bulbs are single filament... and I wasn't able to find a double filament socket and bulb that would fit the trunk without some major structural mods that I was not interested in doing. |

Posts: 7 Moscow, RF | Does somebody has the exactly instruction how to make the trunk light work not only as a running ling but as turn signal too without any add equipment. I mean if here someone knows which exactly wire or pins I have to take out or connect between each other at the plug under seat?
After I did the middle brake light modification, really need an additional turn signal, those at V no more clearly seen.
thank you in advance |

Posts: 32 East Haven, CT | I just received the parts for a module I'm going to build this week that will make the trunk lights also work as signal lights. It is supposed to pick up the first signal activation and follow that until the signal goes off longer than one off cycle then go back on full. There is a separate circuit for each side. I expect to have it done for the AVR trip. It will have 6 connections, 12V/gnd, L&R sig in, and L&R Lamp out.
I need to figure out the total cost and may offer it to other Vision Pilots for a nominal fee. |

Posts: 7 Moscow, RF | Mike,
I'm interested on that, will you ship that module internationally?
This evening I tried to connect trunk lights as turn signal and running lights at the same time but I noticed that VV doesn't have this circuits should be done manualy. On Boulevard M109R which I had before VV it was easy as it had electrical circuits in stock. |
