| He is waht I would like to do but not much of a electrical guy. Front signal I would like to run a jumper wire so both light blink at one time. Of coarse by doing this then all lights would blink with 4 way on. Could I do this with out burning up a $200 dollar part? Rear signal I would like to run a jumper wire to one of the other lights so 2 would blink instead of one.

Make sure you wire it correctly (cause they are run/brake/turn lamps) instead of it just being a run/brake lamp, but really when you get down to it, a lightbulb works by receiving current. So you can tap into the current anywhere. Just tap it from the right wires, and disconnect the other ones and it should be fine. For the front bulbs, you're probably gonna need to make sure you have the same bulbs. I think you would need to replace it to one with a dual filament or something. Just check the bulbs and wire away.

Posts: 307 Columbia, SC | PS - to make it easy, first test it. Do NOT unplug any lights up front. Buy a new socket and bulb, and then use a posi-tap to tap into the power wires for the actual blinker up front. Hook it up to the new socket and bulb (just let them hang). Throw on the blinker and see if the new light works properly. This way there is NO damage to the original wiring, and you can test it on a bulb and socket that is NOT attached to the bike. But as long as you get a 12v bulb/socket, you should be good.

Posts: 208 Wichita, Kansas | I don't know which year you have, but in 2008, per the wiring diagram, the required flashing signal does not go to one of the front bulbs. Look at the inside of the socket and see if it even has the wires for a turn signal. Be sure you buy the replacement socket for the one which has all wires connected if that one on the bike only has 2 wires.
As for the rear, it is already capable, but the wiring to change it would be quite complex. I recommend the sequential turn signal adaptor that's been talked about here lately (just search for sequential). |

Posts: 307 Columbia, SC | Why would it be complex? Wouldn't it just be running the positive wires from the old bulbs to the new bulb (and making sure the new bulb and socket are the same)? |

I love your lights but being out of a job and not finding work there just not affordable for me. Cutting the neighbors grass just puts food on the table.
I was just think of jumper wires. That I have. |

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | The front will be easy, You need to get a 3157 socket for each side, then run the black and gry/pk wires back to the same spots, then tap the blue(left) and bu/r(right) wires into the 3rd space in the 3157 socket (I am doing this mod as well).
The rear will not be as easy. Since they are being used as brake lights, you will need some kind of inline diode. otherwise when you hit your brakes, all lights will come on and blinkers won't work. Also when you turn on a blinker, all brake lights would blink(both sides). If you wish to dissable the middle bulb as a brake light, then you could utilize it as a blinker without diodes. |

Posts: 208 Wichita, Kansas | I encourage you to read through the Vision Tech Reference section. Much of what owners want to do has already been done and shared. If that doesn't work, try a few key word searches (although this site's search engine is a little weak and doesn't go back very far. I posted the rear brake light mod a couple of years ago here: http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2680&posts=1&start=1 And our trusted video wizard, radioteacher, made it into a DIY follow along movie here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-QPAMpVmhw. The great part is, it takes about an hour total, and no parts are required!!! Enjoy your Vision and spend a cold winter afternoon searching for the great stuff that has been done and shared. Then be ready for spring in style! Be safe. PS - Sorry the links aren't hot - the editor doesn't seem to like me this morning.
