I tried searching the forums and could not find the answer to my question, so here goes. I recently got a 2011 VV and I love it. I decided to increase my riding pleasure by getting the Ipod cable so that I may control my Ipod while riding. However, it appears to be acting like an older radio. It does nothing as listed in the manual, such as scrolling through tracks when double clicking tune (it just skips 10 tracks forward). At my 500 mile service they said that the radio was flashed, I'm wondering if they got the old radio firmware installed. I checked my radio version and it was 5.21. I'm going to take it back to the dealership on Tuesday and have them check it out but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem with the newer visions yet. Thanks.

What iPod you using? Make sure the iPod is fully updated and use an iPod that has a flash based NOT hard drive based.

Hope you get it figured out.

I have an Ipod touch with the latest software according to Itunes. I am fairly certain it's not the Ipod and it's the radio itself.

I spent $100 to have the lastest firmware loaded into the radio on my 2008 VV in Feb. I am pretty sure it is 5.21. Didn't solve my problem. The stupid thing either works perfect for 5 hours or stops playing every 30 seconds. The version I have just skips 10 songs when you double tap the advance button.

That is just insane, I'm rather upset that it states one thing in the manual yet you clearly can't do it. I know it's rather minor compared to the sheer awesomeness of the bike as a whole, but it is still frustrating. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow where I'll hopefully get some answers. Maybe it's something that Victory doesn't know about.

I have the 4th gen iTouch and run it runs off the bike's factory cable in the glove box. Just turn it on set it and it runs all day not even using half of the battery so it's no big deal to me to be able to switch songs but the mute still works and the volume. Don't need no stinking $100 cable to switch songs.

I have a 2011 VV and use my I-Pod nano, it works great. The play list, song, group all show up on the digital reader. I have 8 different lists and all I have to do is push one of the number buttons to access the list I want. From the controls on the handle bar I can change songs, volume etc. In otherwords for me it performes exactly like it is suppose to. I almost never use the radio. Not sure why you had your's flashed, being a 2011 it should have come up the updated software. If your dealer flashed it they probably screwed it up, it should not have been done. FYI - I also purchased the extended cord and ran it back to the trunk. The I-Pod velcros to the side of the trunk and is out of the way plus it free up they space up front.

This is what I'm thinking as well, there should have been no reason for them to flash it. Hopefully it will be something simple that will be fixed rather quickly.

That beats my version 5.21. What year is your bike?

I honestly can't believe that victory charges to flash a radio. That's messed up.

Most are not aware that there are 3 different ipod cables you can get from Victory. Dollars to Doughnuts it is the cable.

It's definitely not the cable, I have the wrong firmware on the radio, I should have 7.08 instead of 5.21. It's getting fixed next week as they said they couldn't get me in today...

Will that work in an "08 radio and give you the added features?
