| vision is going in shop Thursday. Rear shock is leaking oil. They say it's covered under 5 year warranty, I like that. But it only has 10,500 miles on it. Hope this isn't a problem to often. |

| Guess I have to knock on my wooden head I'm over ten thousand and only have a year left on warranty.
How much air were you running in the shock? Did you carry a lot of weight in the bike?
Not that any of that really matters.
I'm happy you get a new one and free is the best part. |

| With trunk on 25 pounds with of around 14 Ibs. I go by the chart for weight and Ibs. And no I don't carry much, trunk is off most of the time no passenger. |

Posts: 599 New Mexico | I've had my 2009 about 14 months, am almost at 16k, ride two up about 20% of the time, and keep the shock between 30-66lbs, depending on load.
No shock issues yet, and with over 3 years left on warranty I'm not too worried.

| This is a VERY expensive replacement, be thankful yours is under warrenty because mine wasn't. My 08 had roughly 10000 miles and it leaked like crazy. |

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | It should be covered by my extended warranty. Just looked it up on Victorypartsrus.net. Part cost $467.
Anyone know what happens when all the oil is gone? I think it should still hold air, just be bouncy. Can't get it to dealer for 2 weeks. |

| Just fyi if your extended warranty was free from Vic when you bought the bike, then it's most likely powertrain only. You can ride with it this way, but it will ride lower and more bouncy. If you end up needing a shock, I have one with just a few miles on it. I swapped my stock shock for the ness 1" lower shock.
Ride safe,

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | Thank you Jim. I paid $400 extra I think. The radio was covered when it took a crap, so this should be. I will get in touch with you if that is not the case.
Does it look like the shock is serviceable or is it a sealed unit? |

Posts: 103 Davenport, IA | My 09 started leaking last spring at 32k. Extended warranty covered. Paid the deductible of 100 bucks I think. And yes, it is a $600. item. A good dealer will push for the warranty coverage. I actually took the shock off the bike myself, carried it to dealer and he examined. They ordered a new one and had it within a few days. I put it myself. |
