Posts: 258 Akron, Ohio | I really don't like the factory mounting for the GPS because I feel it is too low and takes your eyes off the road for too long to view it. I know you can blue tooth it, but I just like to look at mine and not listen to it. So I mounted mine high on the dash so a slight glance down is all it takes. Just curious as to what other folks have done and what they have found works best for them. I am still in the try out period for my mount to see if I really like it. To explaine it I bought a new TomTom XXL 550. Then went to GPScity.com and got the mounting and the Aquabox. Total in the set up is less than $200. Best part is the TomTom has lifetime updates. So here is a pic of the unit mounted to the dash. I guess I would like to see some other options. I like it so far but am always open to improvments.
