2 mi from Jim Beam n KY | I rode the VV with the Blue Knights, and all the other some 300+ motorcycles today, from Indiana into Louisville's We had several hundred bikes at the rest stop, and another hundred or so riding escort from Indy. When we got on I-65, Indiana State Police blocked all the ramps. We had I-65 to ourselves, As far as I could see a head, and behind, nothing but bikes. The line was over 2 miles long! Once inot Louisville, Lousiville Metro PD blockes all the intersections until the WTC beams were safely at the River Front.

Hundreds of bikes and I lost my scooter..........Oh....there it is........:  Man, people lined the interstate and over passes, large American flags flying, waving to all the bikers. There was even a WWII "Rat Patrol" jeep with 50 cal on one of the over passes!! The escort ride was AWESOME!!!

| Thanks for posting the link Danny - we were very upset that the media did such little coverage on this event and plastered the Reggae Festival and Abby Road on the River events all over the place. (neither having anything to do with Memorial Day weekend)
You'd think 400+ bikes in a convoy to escort a piece of history - saturated with what Memorial Day weekend is about - would get a little more coverage. They didn't even mention the motorcycles in the tiny articles they posted about it.
We have some awesome photos from the escort that we haven't had time to edit yet but are hoping to get online VERY soon. |

Quad Cities, IL | Hey DannyBCall me crazy, but I spotted your Vision in the video link above. It's about 2:11 into the clip. Not that a Vision is difficult to pick out. What an awesome ride this must have been. I agree with ScoreBo, send out some smoke signals for an event like this. I am sure you will get others to join you. Being in the midwest, I may have made that ride down to Indy to join. |
