Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | Just want to garner more discussion on the Vision compared to other machines. My disadvantage is that I've not owned many motorcycles, and this is my first NEW touring bike. I did ride an '84 GoldWing just prior to buying the Vision. One of the pluses, if not the only plus in getting the Gold Wing was that it would take minimal maintenance to maintain, however, the age was getting the best of it. I was concerned with the other makes that it seems like everyone I knew who road a bike, new or old, was constantly working on theirs or it was in the shop to have something done. After 3 1/2 years this month, I find that the maintenance down-time very low, even with me doing my own maintenance. The cost of maintenance is minimal compared to what I hear on other bikes, or what I was putting out for my '84 Gold Wing, and that is not even a fair comparison. So, Vision "I used to ride something else" Riders, what say you, does the Vision give you the same, more, or less down time for maintenance compared to your other bikes? |

Brake pads and oil changes so far. I won't count the belt problem since that was due to a defective Ness pully. The Vision is one of the easiest vehicles to change the oil and filter on that I have ever owned. The V-star you had to remove the front exhaust pipe to change the filter. |
