While working on the bike I pulled the cover in the front goes between the fuel cells and when I saw the warning I thought of the recently crashed Vision that burst into the flames. My guess is that this line may have ruptured, or it could have been one of the cells. I know this may garner some discussions, but I've not been concerned one bit.

One thing to consider is a crash is a crash, it could be very minor and it could still kill you. I think about veteran racer Dale Earnhardt that came up the ranks when safety features where minimal at best. He was driving one of the safest cars on the track, yet in the exact circumstance that took his life brought yet another safety feature for the drivers that had never been considered in over 50 years of racing.

To my point, ride safe so you don't crash. These are always touchy subjects with some, but you could slip in your tub today and being buried on Wednesday.

Me, I'll enjoy every ride until that time....

i knew there was a crossover but that is a little startling.  kinda like finding out where and how your favorite steak comes from as a kid.  It didn't stop me from eating steak and will not keep me from riding my vision.  But now I know.

Motorcycles are dangerous. Everyone should stay home.

I guess I should have completed my thought. Comments on the flaming Vision was that Victory poor design of placing the fuel pods over the battery caused the ignition. That is where my thoughts were when I made the comment above. As Rollin' says, yes, motorcycles are very dangerous, so there is the first problem.

Ride hard, ride long, ride safe!

Motorcycles are not any more dangerous than guns-its the user and how its used and where its used that causes the problems.

Makes me want to check that line once or twice a year.
I wounder if you wrapped that line with aluminum foil or something like that would your gas stay cooler and maybe pick up some mileage

I think it helps strengthen the cloaking device.

This makes me remember a story from Yankee Mag years ago. The story was about a guy that knew he was going to die in a fire. He built his house out of steel and concrete. Know how he died? In a fire at a restaurant. Right idea, wrong location.
Ride safe.

Is really gasoline falling on a battery really the igniter, or is it the exhaust pipe at over 500 degrees F. possibly the problem. Most cars have a fuel tank with an exhaust pipe going right next to it, hot enough to ignite the liquid in it. Just thinking out loud.

1975, riding home from Jackpot on my new black livery Commando 850, 108 degrees for hours on end, and I pull into a Cattlemens Club in Grangeville, Idaho. I'm parched. There's a couple ol' fat farmers sitting in their bibs on the liars bench outside in the shade, and one of them says to me, "Norton, huh? My nephews cousins sons kid (or some shit like that) had one o' them. Loved it! Rode it all over before he hit a combine and baled himself.'

I said, "Old man, I'm making it to Lewiston tonight, and then tomorrow I'm still 300 miles over Chinook from the house. You wanna talk about kittens, sunshine, balloons, I don't care, but you quit puttin' those ideas and pictures in my head." And that's the way I am to this day with these death threads. QUIT IT!!!

now, Let's talk oil...

I don't know what happened to the fuel line cover on my first Vision, but at some point that yellow sticker caught my attention. I thought it odd I never noticed it before. I guessing the dealer left if off when I went down in 2009.
Anyway, that bike is history. It's replacement had the cover in place.

Periodic Maintenance says to inspect it every 2500 miles. Have been giving 'cursory' check up until now, but will start making extra sure all is good.
