Posts: 206 Lumber Bridge, NC United States | no I tested the bulb it is burnt. has to be 35/35watts or front end will melt off the bike napa has 60w for $10.00. ok after taking the bulb out of the bike twice because neither the dealer or I wrote down the numbers. I got a hold of dealer again and now the bulb is $11.99 ordered one up so as soon as I get it in the bike I will repost to tell everyone if it is the right bulb. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | I think $11.99 is for standard bulb. Switched mine to standard headlamp assembly after an accident . Complete headlamp lens is $200 cheaper than HID, bulbs included. Wiring is already in place. Just remove ballast. I have an extra ballast if anyone is interested. You can get Vic parts prices here.

Okay, I hate to sound so clueless, but may I ask this. If my HID light burns out, it might cost $200
for a 35/35 replacement bulb?
And if I am too cheap to do this, can I somehow put another regualr bulb in that spot without buying
an entire headlight assembly?

| I am still lost. Now are we talking about the two H-4 bulbs on the top of the headlight housing ?
Or are we talking about the HID headlight at the bottom of the headlight housing? http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1311&_nkw...
So what are these bulbs that are less then $30 bucks? |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | HID bulbs are expensive. If yuo could get the adapter for a standard bulb you could use the existing lens. Last time I checked it wasn't available without the lens. I'm not sure of exact price but I remember the standard assy. was half the price of the HID unit. Is it because it comes with a HID bulb? Can't say. I went with the standard one. I never liked using the HID because it seemed to draw too many amps and I do a lot of city riding. Afraid it might cause battery problems. |

Interestingly, I sometimes do the opposite. I want to be seen in the daylight,
and I feel the regular H-4's are plenty to be seen at night. Now whether or not I see
fine is another issue.
Maybe it is just my unit, but the HID lights the ground just in front my bike, but the
yellow H-4's light what's ahead of me? I could take a picture I guess.

At night I do not turn the HID off, it is low and wide it lights up a deer's eyes real good. I use the highbeams only after dark as well but do turn them off if there is street lighting or oncoming traffic. |

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | Has everyone adjusted their headlight? Mine was very high when I bought the Vision but I adjusted the control wheel until I had truly low and high beams.
Before the adjustment I only had high and higher beams...great for finding roosting birds at night but bad when used for finding deer on the side of the road.

According to the manual you turn the wheel clock wise to lower ( when sitting on the bike) or counter clock wise when your standing in front of the bike looking at the headlight.
To raise the head light its just the opposite.
Read your manual for aiming.
I did see there is away I think to adjust left and right. But haven't read any thing yet. |

However, I did replace the whole headlight assembly around 20,000 when it filled with water. Warranty was a GOOD thing there. |

Talk to the dealer...maybe they will sell them online or publish the part number for replacement. If they do publish their name and the parts information.

I will call my dealer on Tuesday and see what their price on that part would be. For $12 it is a great fix!!
If it matches with your data (and it should) I will add it to the parts list.
Thanks for you help and Ride Safe.....someday I will need one and this part will save a ton of money!!

Not to thread hijack, but the headlight assembly is only a little over $200 with the halogen bulbs? Really?

Good find, but I am sure there's have to be some different wiring & plug in. Anyone without an HID should get this hooked-wired up now IMO. Oh, and take pictures.
