Posts: 199 Salt Lake City | Just noticed I've got a rt. front leak-I'm guessing it's a seal. Is this a warranty(16.5K mi. on the bike) item? |

| I don't think so,I asked the dealer what is done on the 15,000 mile service. He told me the fork seals are replaced and that service charge was 750.00. But great if your dealer will get it done under warrenty, good luck. |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | maybe I've missed something - got 91,500 on the clock and never have had to replace the fork seals yet. You change the fluid every 15,000 miles, however, if the entire assembly is taken apart then yes, the seals are replaced. Seals normally wouldn't be a warranty issue, but maybe in this case if they were leaking when you rolled out the door unnoticed, I'd have to go for it. |

| Don't have to take forks a part for fluid change. Not even to replace seal if your good at your job. But at the bottom of the forks inside are bushings that do wear. At 91 thousand miles maybe you might need them. Just saying

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | The bike is still fairly solid, but do notice some "looseness" in the suspension. I need to do a complete shake down and replace all of the bushings and probably a few other things as well. The book says if you pull the forks apart then the seals need to be replaced, that is, the cartridge. Doing a drain, purge, clean, fill, and bleed, no, seals are fine. I show no signs of leakage at this time. |

| I didn't understand Cap'n your not replacing the cartridges right? Take a old bushing to the realer and mike a new one and then compare. A few thousands would be no big deal.
See if you can sweat talk them and find out what weight the fluid is.
Besides bushing and seals i wouldn't think you would have to replace any thing. |

I think the swing arm bushings are a little worn and that is what causes the loosness that I feel. But I do need to do a complete shakedown and replace all of it. I have a tendency to push things a little longer than recommended to see where the limit is. |
