Posts: 152 Bonita Springs, FL | Well after my dealer install replacing a broken Garmin 2820 with a new Zumo 550 we had hardly any volume and what volume we had would cut out every split second. The volume under tools was all the way up for both Navigation and MP3 to 100%. After googling around tonight I discovered there is a secondary volume control on the 550. You hit the bottom left button and then use the top button to turn up this secondary volume. It now works without the voice cutting out, but the volume even though reasonable is no where near what the 2820 from the factory was. (The 2820 was standard from the factory on the 10th Anniversary Visions.) I did a search on the forum and the only complaint I saw was that the volume was an issue on the 550 compared to the 2820 when playing through the external or headset speakers. Has anyone found a fix for this. I wear earplugs and need that extra volume. If you turn the speakers all the way up the 550 volume is okay, but when it returns to whatever you have on such as FM or Ipod, the volume knocks you off the bike. Anyone out there have the same problem and found a fix. I have an appointment at my local auto stereo store on Saturday, he is thinking an extra small amp. |
