I was tearing my hair out trying to get my smart playlist "PODCASTS" to play, and couldn't figure it out. So I renumbered it to playlist 1 and it worked! But then my last playlist (number 9) didn't work!!!

For some reason, when I sync playlists to my ipod touch, the vision only plays through the NEXT to last playlist. So in order to get EVERY playlist to play, I have to have one titled "12 placeholder" or something that would put it last, in order to ACTUALLY get number 11 to play. Otherwise, the button corresponding to 11 on the radio (in this case, number 11) does nothing.

Anyone else find this phenominon? Or figure out what the heck makes it do this?

I'm not TOO concerned, as this little trick works for now, but I'm just curious more than anything as to why it wouldn't work.

That is odd. I have setup iPods with only 4 playlists and can get all 4 to play with buttons 2 3 4 and 5. Remember that radio button 1 will always play every song in your iPod.

That sounds like it. Playlist 11 is really in position 12 because 1 is 'play all'.

See if like me, there's an APPLE Store near you (there's one in Alderwood Mall but I hate the idea of going to Ticket Junction also known as Lynnwood, WA. where you can get a ticket from the LPD for being 'clocked' @ 35 and 1/4 in a 35 MPH zone) and they can do a quick diagnostic to see if your ipod has an internal issue, a fat finger issue, or if it needs replaced or just cleared up and a demo given to the owner on how to operate it correctly. Mr. Jobs seems to have some sort of 'thing' against PC owners and they DO make interchanging between the two tricky. It's a shame that Little Billy's castle of refined sand across the Lake in Redmond cannot seem to make a unit that rivals or beats the ipod, my son got a 'ZUNE' @ work for some sort of award and the thing is as big as a 60's transistor radio and would make a good throwing object if things went sideways.

SYNSTR,

The iPod interface to the Vision is not authorized or licensed accessory for the iPod. Victory had the thing built and it works for the most part but since it is not Officially authorized.

The Genius at the store might just say "I did try but I am sorry, I cannot help you get this going. Wish I could do more. Ta ta bye Byeee"

Every once and a while I say a little payer to those that make the software and hardware for M$ and Cisco that they continue to do an 'adequate' job. I have made money...and I am taking really good money...installing and building systems using that stuff.

If they ever fixed all of the bugs....or made it easier to install or even understandable by lesser geeks more people would be taking MY Vision money!!!

I bought an 8 gig ipod when I got the VISION. it downloaded about 45% of the 130 or so songs I had in itunes on the 'puter and it will not download the balance. I've read and re-read the friggin' vague and scattershot 'on line manual' from the house that Jobs built and the thing sits on my desk because of this issue, I'm tempted @ times to use the thing as a wheel chock or see how far it'll skip across Puget Sound. I find it easier to just use my iphone and the ear buds, the sound is better and it at least downloaded all the music so far.

I've found the same thing. Playlists name "01", "02", "03", etc. are accessed by hitting preset buttons "2","3","4", etc. Selecting preset button "1" plays the entire music library of the iphone. Once I knew (and accepted) this fact, all was right with the world.

SYNSTR, try this thread: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081220025417AADdK0V

On one of the many iTunes upgrades, I found that my Sync Music check box was unchecked. Micheal6 on the thread actually tells about this.

No problem at all with my Itouch and Vision.
Over 2000 songs downloaded and grouped according to year or genre.

Someone posted great directions on how to do this on this forum or another Vision forum.
All I did was follow their directions.
