Posts: 92 Chandler, AZ | Wondering how this is going to work out. Local Vic dealer here just had Big Dog line shut down, and Indian is currently a block down the street at a H-D dealership. Could be interesting! |

Posts: 82 Fargo, ND | Now Polaris owns the "1st" American Motorcycle company... (Indian) And they own the most forward thinking motorcycle company (Victory) I cant wait to see what they do when they have the opportunity to merge the technologies of both companies. Can anyone see a "Dream catcher" in the future? |

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I heard that it will be a couple of years until the first one comes out. Victory is retooling the frame. No more steel tube frames. And they want to bring the price down to a level that the bikes will sell.

Mike, I'd love hear more about what you know, or where you are getting the info on the steel tube frames. I'm just wondering if they'll still have the same sex appeal? The interesting thing is, there is a strong Indian following, albeit, not large, but will the retooling and image change be beneficial or a prelude to yet another demise? |

Posts: 965 New York State | I grew up with my nose on the window of the Indian Dealer on Long Beach Island NJ at Barnaget Light. The Cheif with its beige leather. fringe and all the chrome.
Iwould have delt with the Devil to own a black and cream.
By the time I was old enough to ride there was no Indian Co.
Given the choice between a Classic brand new in the box from the 70's
or a Vision/Indian hybred
I would choose a Vision/Indian.
I have a 1979 Triumph she has speed, power and the worst brakes on this planet they are iffy
if they work its a little better.
My 2007 America has electric start and disk brakes the improvement is wonderful. |

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I was talking with the owner of the local Vic dealer here in Tucson. The same one that rode the first Vision to the show in Vegas, the one thats doing the Victory Police bikes...Mike Schultz....Hes got a great handle on whats going on with anything Victory. I was asking if Victory was just gonna slap a Vic motor in the existing platform and well.....not gonna happen. They are trying to loose the weight and gain the strength of cast aluminum....But I reckon the only ones that truely know are the Engineers at Victory....

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Speking of the Polaris/ Indian thing and the resurecting of motorcycle brands from the past. Anyone else on this site ever ride one of the Excelsior Henderson Super X's ?? I thought they had a winner there, it was a modern DOHC V-twin FI engine with a good look and ran and sounded good too, but the whole thing collapsed rather quickly..............
