Posts: 38 Prince George, BC, Canada | I had the CB installed on my Vision by my dealer, for those that might have installed it or are running it, can you tell me if there are any noise filters on this set up. I know that the Goldwing has 4 filters to prevent noises from fuel pump, rad cooling fan, etc... I seem to be picking up noise from the fuel pump on my bike. Also, should I get the dealer to reflash my radio. This is a 2010 Vision tour premium.
Thanks for the input. |

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | I installed my own CB radio and I didn't see any external filters like the Goldwing uses. Those 4 filters are just RF chokes that have factory connectors added to them to enable them to be plug and play when someone adds the CB option to their Goldwing. They connect into the power leads for each of the circuits they serve. You can get them for about $1.50 each at Radio Shack if you want to add them to your Vision, but you'll have to physically splice them into the power lead for each circuit you want to filter. I've not done that on my Vision. I did do that on my Sport Cruiser that I put a J&M CB radio on about 10 years ago.
I would think that the dealer reflashed your radio to the current levels when he added the CB. Reflashing will not affect the RF interference you hear from your fuel pump or alternator/regulator, etc. That RF noise is external to the CB. Is your CB and intercom working as it should otherwise?

Thanks for the feedback.
