My Vision has some gas tank and other issues and my dealer has nothing good to say about Polaris Star Protection. They are covering some items and rejecting others that he feels should be covered. I am going to call them tomorrow and try and get some answers. Anyone had problems with them. My dealer also said Polaris has changed companies since I purchased my extended warranty last year, anyone hear about this.

one, as intermediary for Polaris I feel it is wrong for the dealer to convey that feeling to the customer. It takes the onus off of them to stand for you as a dealer. Perhaps Polaris breeds this kind of contempt, but it is the very thing that will keep Victory as the little guy dispite the superior engineering. I think I would tell the dealer that I appreciate all the help they can give me to resolve the issue. Contempt breeds contempt....

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have given more facts. My dealer was on the phone with them several times regarding the non covered items to no avail. Since they have to charge me, they thought it was best to go over the covered and non covered items. They have hit a wall with Polaris Star on these issues and told me this has happened many time in the past.

i personally always had a mix feeling about when a dealer says something isnt covered when others with the same problem had it covered at other dealers. makes me wonder (sorry if i am wrong) dealer tell you that to try and make up for some of the cost thinking a customer has no way to contact and talk with the warranty center themselves.

From my understanding, it has to with how forms are filled out, what the problem is listed as, ect. An example would be the gear indicator issue. My claim was rejected. A Vic engineer at the AVR said it had to be entered as a claim for a gear indicator switch upgrade, or it would be rejected.

I know it is a big task, but can there be a database put together that tells what to put in on the forms for each type of warranty claim? I know that when I do warranty parts in my job, it can be only the addidtion or omission of one word that makes it go through or fail. Thoughts?

I have had good luck with them over the years. New tranny for my '99 in '01. They even paid the tow from New Haven, CT to MA when the slave cylinder went on Anny. See what happens this time with the cracked rear belt pulley. I found that while putting air in the back tire. I am thinking that's it's just a bad casting. It happens.
