Hay all, just wanted to pass on my experiance with the extended warranty on the VV. When I bought my bike used, I had no idea it had an extended warranty. I happend to ride to the local Victory dealer and he looked up the vin and found it. I spent the $25 transfer charge and did the paperwork. Well, my bike is an 08 and had some of the early problems, like the left side badge would not light all the time, the radio would change stations when you tried to adjust the volume from the handle bar, and the gear idicator was bouncing from 1st to 2nd when at a stop light. Another problem that I had that I did not even know is thae fuel cap was leaking. There is a new design that stops this problem.
So I take my bike to the local dealer for them to look at and I find that the extended warranty will pick up ALL of the above problems. However ,it will NOT cover the oil, filter, drain plug gasket and the bolt itself for the gear indicator problem.
While there I also had them install 2 ram ball mounts on the master cyclinders, which involved drilling and tapping the holes.(newer bikes come with the holes, mine did not.)
So here is a break down of costs:
$50.00 Deductible for warranty
$81.18 My share of not covered warranty materials including ram mounts
$17.25 Labor to drill and tap holes in master cyclinders for ram mounts
$ 6.15 Tax

$108.58 Total my share
$449.90 Warranty share

Now let me also add that they told me it would take aprox. 7 buisness days to complete the work. They had it done in 5. All the items seem to be done correctly. On the way home from the dealer every thing worked as it should.
I must say that I am VERY happy with the service and the staff as they all were great to deal with. I would like to give a big THANK YOU to all the folks at BAIRS'S POLARIS as they are first class folks.
Another issue I know has come up on the forum for discussion before that made no differance is the fact that I am a Darksider. The service manager even came out to look at the tire on the bike when I told him I was running a car tire. This had NO impact on the warranty. Enough typing, I'm going riding!!

Handy,

Tom and Jonathan will take care of you there. I bought my bike from Bair's too. I had all the same issues you did with yours too, less the fuel cap. All of mine were covered under the first year warranty. Oh yeah, they replaced my headlight too. Check for small cracks at the top of your light. Eventually it will let water in.

Glad to hear this too. My bike came with the factory 1 yr. with a 2 yr extended warranty. I spent $340? for an addition 2 yr. unlimited mileage. I averaged about 22K a year before my Vision so they may be doing warranty work on a 110K bike.
