I purchased a trunk wall mount. I install the trunk according to Victorys instructions and used the fasteners supplied with wall mount kit.after 6 months the mount came out of the wall damaging the trunk and wall. The fasteners supplied by Victory had failed and just bent like spagettii. I went through my dealer with pictures etc and Victory said it was because it was installed improperly. Now I found out the Victory has discontinued part 2855719 tour pak wall mount.I called cutomer care and after the "runaround" I was told they couldnt do anything. Where do I go from here.?I need advise...I'm out $1600, and Victory puts the blame on me because thier screws failed.

I will have to say it stinks that you had a problem with the wall mount.

I guess I was thinking ahead when mine showed up out any screws and I installed m some lag bolts. I think I will check it when I get home.

That does suck. I have not removed my trunk but I have the wall mount kit. I will remember to replace the screws that come with the kit to make sure my trunk stays safe.

I do not know what you can do with Victory but I thank you very much for posting this so I can put mine up to stay up!

Take care

That stinks. But my trunk has been on the wall since day one. No issues. Made sure one screw was in a stud at least. I can't say I disagree with their decision though. Kinda like if you picked up a rock and destroyed your belt. Not their fault. Some installations are on the discretion of the installer too. But you are out alot of money, so I don't blame you for being pissed or trying

Banjo,

Since reading this I have been wondering. When I install my wall mount.....I am thinking of mounting the bracket on a piece of 1/2" or 3/4" plywood that is 18" wide or wider. The plywood I would then mount across two sets of studs. This should hold as long as I do not use their screws.

I'd contact the insurance company for your bike and see if they can cover this under your comprehensive coverage. Couple things about comprehensive....usually a lower deductible than collision....and no premium increase or loss of any discounts or any other costs besides the deductible. Kinda debatable if they will cover it under comprehensive or not. But it can't hurt to ask....all it takes is a couple minutes on the phone...and perhaps a pair of crossed fingers.

That happened to me with 700 miles on my Vision on the way to a rally. It did suck having to plunk down another 500 bucks on something you just chunked down big money for.

I made my trunk no longer removable, I installed (or are going to install) an amp in the stem.

Dont get me started on Polaris/Victory poor service. If I did not love my bike so much I would never buy from them again. Being in retail management myself, giving a client (who has paid hard earned recession money) on something of such value TO THEM, the run around wrapped in
a "sorry we cant help you" package is rediculous. I have gone around and around with Victory on a few items, and I swear that girl who answers the
"customer service line" must not be able to do anything but read from a manufactured notebook of stock responses. I swear she just listens to you and once she hears the verbal period or comma in your tone, she flips the book to some random page closes her eyes and finger points to whatever
response her finger lands on. On my last call to them, I asked her after we got no where " ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS IS THE B E S T YOU CAN DO AS A CUSTOMER S E R V I C E REPRESENTATIVE?" She said simply "yes". then went silent. I even considered making a video for youtube of me sitting on my bike talking to Polaris and explaining the extent of runaround I have gotten since dealing with them, then posting it on
the internet. The only reason I didnt was because I dont have the equipment to make the video. I do however encourage someone else to do it.
But they need to have their head on straight, do it without sounding like a whining babbling fool and lose their credibility for the video.

What says you guys?

Wow I'm shocked at VaParadox statement. (If I did not love my bike so much I would never buy from them again.) Yuo and I have been friends on here for along time hell we almost had twin bikes becasue we kept getting the same stuff, we even have the same personal lic plate saying. I thought your buddy owned a vic shop and always took very good care of you and made sure vic did the right thing bro. what happen. I cant remember reading you had issues with ma Vic. I'm sad to hear that they wouldnt take care of a good customer such as your self brother. I know i have about $30k into my bike already with all the extra's and labor cost. (I always try and support my local dealer by letting them do the work) I sure hope I NEVER have to fight them.
