Posts: 308 Vineland, NJ United States | I was installing the Lloyd's IAC valve and to give myself more room to work, I unplugged the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) Sensor located on rear of front cylinder. I got to the step in the installation instructions where I had to use a heat gun on the shrink wrap for the IAC. Unknowingly, I slightly melted the tip of the black part of the CHT sensor. So now the white harness won't slide on. Does the black plastic come off of the CHT? Is the CHT hard to remove? Any ideas. I took a photo and hopefully it is attached. Can I drive the bike without that harness connected? Ed 2008 Victory Vision Tour. |

Posts: 1359 New Bohemia, Va | Ed - some might not like my answer but take an exto knife to the plastic end and clean it up. It looks like you can wrench it out and the book should tell you what will happen or what you have to do when installing, torque ect. I don't see a serious situation here, but next time...PAY ATTENTION...man some people...
PS: I live my life with "ooops", "ah shucks, why did I do that", "that's going to cost me..." And I never learn and keep right on doing stuff like this. |

Posts: 965 New York State | I used to tear cars apart and rebuild them. I bought a a first year Ford Ranger S and the motor made a high pitched whine then started running really well. I pulled over opened the hood and there was a burnt rubber smell and a belt everywhere,I cleaned out what I could find and took it back to the dealer because I had no idea what the broken belt was doing.
Turns out it was an air pump for polution control the mechanic gave me a new pump and a new belt he said leave it off until you want to trade or sell it.
My Vision is like that Ford to me when I look at parts I'm clueless as to what they do or if they are even needed, so I let the dealer inform me of what is important and what is better left off till resale. |

Posts: 308 Vineland, NJ United States | thanks guys, I already ordered a new sensor but I'm trying to rig something so I can ride in the mean time. Anybody have an ideal tool suggestion to remove sensor? It's really hard to get a regular open end wrench in there and a socket won't work. |

something like this maybe... or fabricate your own by bending up another wrench or t-handle a socket.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | the age of the post is Clearly known.. what isnt is, you dont have to buy this part from a dealer.. i just purchased that and the plug that goes on it from napa auto ( In stock ) unlike any victory dealer.. this bike has so many parts from so many different types of cars... GM, FORD, M.B., etc |
