Anybody have the plastic lower on the brake side they don't want? I just broke mine. Was thinking of getting the CycleOps replacements. However I think only the Crome color will look nice with the Blue Ice. I actually like the look of the clear on my bike.

I'm gonna order chrome lowers in the next couple of weeks. My left side-clear has a hairline crack in it, but the brake side is good. I'll send you the brake side lower if you can wait. pm me if you'd like.

Dont waste your money on the cheap plastic ones, they will last 1-2 seasons. I ordered the aluminum ones from Cycle ops unpainted and took them to my paint guy who matched my bike color perfectly, then poly sealed them. They look and perform awesomely !!. Spend the right money
ONCE, not the wrong money over and over.

Glad you guys are finding my lowers, and uppers, worthwhile. As for the chrome on the Ice Blue, personally that's my choice oto, but do know we now also offer them in metallic silver and with the silver panels it doesn't make for a bad accenting. I'm sending a customer a set who has a Blue Ice bike and should have photos back from him I'd think within the week. If I remember I'll come back in here and post them for you to see what you think. Thanks again to all for the good words on my products and if ever I can answer anything for you on any of my goodies just let me know by PM, e-mail, or just give an old fashioned phone call.

I would love to see how the silver looks. That would be great. I'll be saving up for the Chrome ones for the future. Thanks!

On another note, you're a lucky man riding where you do. As an ex NYyer who hiked, camped, canoed, hunted and partied in the Adirondacks I 'm very jealous... it's one of my favorite regions on Earth. :tu

It's a combination of design flaw along with the wrong choice of plexiglass over laxan. They usually crack at the lower moutning holes because there's only 1/32" of material at the edge of the holes, not nearly enough 'meat' to hold up well at all with all the air forces and vibrations. Or billet deflectors are forever and cannot break.

Were the plastic is bolted to the hinges is a weak spot. I had mine for 2 years before one broke. It only broke because I bumped it while driving. So my fault not the lowers. You have to becareful to only move/adjust the lowers by hand. People adjust them with their feet while riding and they break (fragile).

That's the big problem John. On a motorcycle, why should you need to take hands off the bars to adjust something that is more easily, and much more safely, adjusted by a slight nudge from a foot which are already right there next to them? There is nothing, IMO, on a motorcycle that should be so fragile, especially something like lowers which also get their fair share of stress just by design from the wind itself.

Thanks for the all the responses and posts regarding the lowers. Thanks to Gerry for sending me the lowers as a pay it forward deal. The lower I rec'd was givien to Gerry from a guy in Florida. Gerry from West Canada sent them to me in NY. So I have a well traveled lower

So while riding with full lowers on one side and only the top lower on the other side, I noticed the difference the lowers make. I my observation while driving when the lowers are spread out to deflect the wind in colder conditions, I didn't really notice much difference on the side without the lowers. I was driving with my legs hug closed to the engine. Having the lowers out in the cold might really only help the passenger in the back. I did notice a big difference with the lowers bringing more wind to the motor on warmer days. So I think the lowers are more beneficial to bring wind to the engine to cool things off then deflect the wind in the colder times. This was just my observation with driving without one of the lowers. It is funny because I mainly bought them for the colder times. Either way I would still buy the lowers, most likely the Chrome one from CycleOps, if and when these plastic ones break.

Safe riding everyone and thanks again!!!

Last saturday on the way back from Vegas I got to drine while it was snowing. Would have been a popcicle without them, today came across the Mohave desert and then into Bullhead City, temps all the way to 101 felt nice to have the extra air. I put chrome door edge trim across the top and on the back side to keep from chipping the edge of the Midnight Cherry when I move it with my foot. Four different guys asked where the hell I got the chrome edged lowers. They look kind of neat for 2 bucks at Walmart.
