I installed rubber molding at the lid of the trunk, but still has noise at bumps and rough road.

My dealership said that many people complain about the noise from the trunk.

IS anyone knows any solution for this??

I took my trunk off!

Sorry but with all the plastic two pieces are bound to touch and rattle. It would depend on the road condition, temp and if you have anything in it. Mine makes noises I just turn up the volume. Also the lid and seal have movement, and on harder bumps will compress the lid and extend to the point of the latch clicking. When I have my trunk on, and the better half on a road trip, we have to get someone to sit on the lid to close the trunk...never rattles then!!!!!!lol Good luck stoping every little rattle and squeak.....I just ride mine.

I used a couple of door knob wall protectors - that I picked up form Lowes - (they look like half moons, white in color) - they are self stick - I placed them over the screw holes next to the latch - the trunk closes tightly the first couple of hundred miles - they wear in a bit, making it a lot easier to close - no rattles for 15K - before you stick them make sure latch operates properly - close a few times - when you are comfortable that the location will work remove the backing and stick..........

The new style are very soft rubber and colapse easily - those are the ones you want......................

Do a search of the forum and you'll find some post about tightening the trunk latches which might help.

If you go to the dealership and have them do a parts detail search on the trunk rack, the kit now comes with rubber bumpers that are to be drilled and installed on both sides of the latch on the lid. It works very well. I have installed them on a handful of bikes. They are supposed to compensate for the weight of the trunk rack. I would get you the part #'s but don't have access to get them at the time. If you go this route I am positive it will take care of your problem

I went to Home Depot and bought a couple feet of rubber moulding about 3/8" wide, window moulding I think, and forced it lightly into the slot/gap on the trunk base around the entire trunk...Much better seal and still rattles a litte over heavy bumps, but for the most part seems to work....Need to push down a little harder to close, but no big deal and cost about $5.00......Probably the same as what others have done...The rubber moon door guards sounds like it might help some....Just ride and don't worry about it as most say......

I recently got the trunk rack, and there were two rubber bumpers included, but no instructions or mention of them. Does anyone have any idea where they are supposed to go? Maybe a copy of the instructions that shows the installation of the bumpers? Pics? Anything would be very helpful!

What is that thunk coming from the trunk?

Could it be junk the trunk?

Oh no you didn't hit a skunk, or a hunk of a tree trunk!

It might be a drunk, cyberpunk, chipmunk, from podunk Kennebunk, who likes to do the funk on the bunk, and knocked a chunk from the trunk that caused the thunk.

Or does it sound like kerplunk?

If that is the case then everything needs to be countersunk, and slathered with gunk.

I hope some punk didn't plunk your hunk, that caused the thunk.

Either way you will need to debunk all the junk that stunk in order to find that thunk.

Goodlunk.

I had my trunk rack added at the dealership before taking delivery of the bike.
10K miles I've not heard a rattle. Maybe cause these are installed?

Go to Wingstuff.com and buy these. I installed a set on a GW last weekend for a friend. Made a huge difference. Pretty cheap to.
