Posts: 193 Buford, GA United States | The weekend in North Georgia was perfect for a ride-to-eat in Augusta.
I took off Friday about 11:30 with the wife for a ride to eat at Rineharts in Augusta. We stopped in Athens along the way for some sushi then nothing but back roads to Augusta. Lexington, Washington and Lincointon were some of the small towns we rode through with the weather around 80 by the end of the ride it was wonderful. The wind got up a little more than we thought it would but with almost 40k on the Vision the wind does not even bother me anymore. Anyway, we checked into the Courtyard and rested for a little while after the 150 miles to get there and then got to the restaurant around 6:30pm. The place was packed and we had to sit with some "new friends" at one of the outdoor picnic tables. The crab legs were good but the fried shrimp was better but just sitting outside after the ride and the Winter we just went through made everything really taste great.
The next morning we got up to check out the new breakfast area that was just completed and as we got to the restaurant I hear somebody calling my name. It is a friend that I ride with and he is there with some guys on a bowling tournament. Small world...but the breakfast was really good and we split a meal and headed out and hit the road around 11am. I headed south towards Wrens then west to Warrenton, Sparta and to Greensboro. Well, by now we are getting hungry and I check my phone and another couple we ride with is in Athens, Home of the Georgia Bulldogs, so we turn north for 32 miles and meet them for lunch. After lunch we head towards home and after 350 total miles we call it a day. Pretty good end for the last 2 days of Winter!!! And Varyder, I was thinking of you as I ate the crab legs!!! |
