Posts: 273 Midlothian, Va. | Rolling north up I-95 this afternoon in NC after having lunch (400 mile ride for bbq) my wing man pulls up and motions me over. I thought he was having a problem when he points to where my upper wind deflector was and said it flew off. Running 77 mph I doubt it was much left and besides it was too much traffic. Here's the question after all this drivel...Is this warranty or just a case of tough poop?

Posts: 131 Edmond, OK 2012 Vision, 2012 Cross Country | When did you buy your bike is the first thing to think about. I had a 09 VV TP and the left side on my bike came off and it was covered by warranty. Look to see if the holes are stripped out and show that to the service manager. Good luck. |

Good luck.It will be a year old next week and like I said I didn't go back on the interstate to try and find it, too dangerous.

Posts: 24 Hanover, Md | Biscuit - The same thing happened to me last year. I probably had about 5,000 miles or so on the bike. It had gotten dark and I was on my way home from a ride, when I felt something hit my left leg. Didn't think anything of it at the time. The next day, I went out to get ready for another ride, and noticed the left deflector was gone. This was mostly my negligence, because I had found the screws that hold them on to be loose a couple of times and had tightened them. I should have pulled the screws out and put some blue permatex on them. I just removed the other side, and have put over 10,000 more miles on without them. Some extra wind and buffeting, but not too bad. I may replace them at some point. I didn't even think about checking with the dealer for warranty coverage. Oh well, live and learn. Good luck. |
