Fountain Inn, SC United States | Here's a list of aftermarket amplifiers we've used or spec'd for the Vision. Which one do you use?
How do you like it (pros/cons)?
If yours isn't listed, add it. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | So far there are 6 responses to this poll but no one has voiced their opinions on the amps.
Do you like and recommend them?
Do they get too hot?
Where did you install them?
Wattage?
Cost?

Do they get too hot? Where did you install them? Wattage? Cost? Could be due to a possibility that only about six people have installed amps on their Visions? I'm just sayin......... p.s. I'm soon to be #7....or #8....or....

| Jeff,
I bought the Alpine amp and four Kicker speakers to tie it into, but I travel for work 80-90% of the time so I don't get a whole lot of time with my bikes, but time I do get, I try to make it good. I have the amp and speakers sitting in my office waiting for my return. When I am back for more than a few days I plan to perform the install and write a review. More to come. |

| I'm interested in how well the Hawg Tunes setup works? And... why doesn't it upgrade the rear speakers as well? |

(and this from a guy who has had aftermarket amps since the 1970's in his vehicles.... )

Posts: 348 Sturbridge, Mass | I had the Apline KTP put in mine based off the recomendation from member DAIN here,
I have the Infinity speakers front/rear. I have no basis to judge it against other amps, only to say that the new set up is LOUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.
setting 12 on the highway @ 75MPH is plenty, before it was 20-21
Sound is not cyrstal clear, I still need to play with the settings on the map, but being a technophobic- it may be some time.

Any problems wiring it up? do you cut the speakers wires going to all four corners and solder the amp inline, or are they plug compatible? |

Posts: 74 Navarre, FL | I looked at all the options and ordered the Rockford Fosgate. Great reviews, good specs, 75W true RMS x4. small footprint. $161 shipped. I will be doing a full post on my 8-ball install soon. Poly Planar Marine remote head unit, CD player, amp and Bazooka 5.25s and possibly a pair of surface mount tweeters. It should turn out to be a pretty sweet setup, integrated Ipod, CD/MP3, plenty of power all for $355. I just wish there was room for bigger speakers! |

I have on sitting on the bench in the garage... Unfortunately it will be at least three weeks unit I can get to it... Just have three vertebrata fused in my neck... Talk about a pain in the neck!
Anyway - I was wondering where you installed you PBR3000x4 ?
Since I do not have the trunk on most of the time... I was thinking about the top on the right saddle bag (that is because that is where I have the current Alpine 445 install. But I have also been toying with mounting it to the back wall in the left saddle bag. It would fit perfect there...
So I am wonder where the folks that have installed the RF PBR300x4 and were they installed theirs... Pictures are always helpful.
Thanks, Dave |

| Hottierod, I never recomened the Alpine amp that was your choice, not mine. I have the Jensen 760 amp amd love it. It does get a little hot but I dont ride in the saddle bag anyhow so I dont care. It has a 4 speaker hook-up unlike the Hawg one, and have taken 1st place, 3 different times for loudest stereo. Dain |

Well, I suppose I can let the cat out of the bag a little. Vision-Riders' illustrious RadioTeacher is as we speak putting together an article (& video) on the installation of the PBR300x4, speakers, and a power block. I'll let him be the definitive word. Stay tuned!
