Well after 3 yrs 3 mos of being outside year round ( no house = no garage ) my seat is coming apart at the seams. Took it to Sargent Cycle Products here in Jacksonville and they're gonna re-cover it for around $200.

I did check with my local Victory dealer to see what the MotherShip wanted for a new heated seat and was told ( I hope you're sitting down at your computer LOL) it would be $694 WTF?

And for those of you who are thinking about putting a mud flap on your front fender, I know from experience that if you live in a community that has SPEED MOUNTAINS [very tall speed bumps], you will break the rear fender section. Replacement ordered = $65. Will install new rear fender section this time WITHOUT mud flap.

Thanks for sharing Luke. I've got the same problem, but I thought you had a toy hauler? Sounds like a great price at 2 bills, I'd have to drop about 5 to get mine done, but to check around some more, and I'm going real leather though. My rear section has a mudflap on it and it broke a the side holes, I was just thinking vibration. But as you point out, it may have been a speed bump. Also, I added metal brackets and fixed mine, hoping that would be it. I'll need to relook this before something worse happens. Thanks again.

Wow... Breaks the rear section of the front fender...? I just ordered a mudflap, too. May have to look at it carefully, and see how far down it extends, before I install it. We have all sorts of those dang speed bumps around here. Thanks for the heads up!

Chris, I do have a toy hauler that I live in year-round but going up and down that ramp is NOT something I (or you) would want to do on a daily basis. It's a 3 foot rise and the ramp is only 10 long, so it's almost like riding your 900 lb Vision up a / .

sounds like my shed, and yes, for the same reason it sits outside under the oaktree.

I just installed a medium size front mud flap and raised it up a bit. Do you know if yours was a medium or large?

Thomas, Medium.
Just a little more than 24 hrs after I dropped off the seat at Sargent Cycle, Troy was calling me to say "it's done". Picked it up, cost = $183. Reinstalled on the Vis and if you didn't know it was NOT original seat cover you couldn't tell by looking at it. It matches the OEM vinyl very well. They also market other cycle products at www.sargentcycle.com. Check 'em out.

Luke,

That is a great price to get recovered.  (Cheapest I can find around Memphis is $400.)  Did they change out the foam at all or was it purely just swapping out the vinyl?  Also, did you mark a line on the seat to show "platform level" or can you skip that part if you are leaving everything stock?

Songfan, there is a upholster up in Atoka, I saw the work he did on an ATV seat, looked pretty good right at 100 I believe. whatever material you bring and he wraps it. Can't see where it would be much different.

Luke,

Did they change out the foam at all or was it purely just swapping out the vinyl?? Just put new vinyl over stock foam and seat pan.

Also, did you mark a line on the seat to show "platform level" or can you skip that part if you are leaving everything stock?? I don't understand the question - too old, I guess.

Luke,

I went to their website and under "Custom Seat Services" they had a part about holding the bike upright and marking the seat's "level line".  Since yours was just a recover over stock foam you wouldn't have had to get that far into it.  Thanks for the clarification.
