Posts: 307 Columbia, SC | I have an ipod cable, and whenever I switch playlists, it plays that playlist in alphabetical order by name of song. Also, when I press 1 to play ALL songs on the ipod, there are (again) in alphabetical order. Is there a way to have them play randomly or on shuffle? I'm not happy with taking off the ipod, plugging it back in, and having it start at the top of order every time. I just want it on random or something. Thanks.

| If your ipod is in random mode before you plug it into the bike it will continue to play random through the audio system. |

What he said. Set to random and then plugged in it stays at random, Do any button pushing, it will go in the order of however you have your playlists setup, button 1 is reserved for the entire iPod library in order, buttons 2-12 is for your custom playlists that you setup in itunes. |

You can have up to 11 seperate playlist, the first one on your Vision will be the alphabetical list, that's been my experience. |

Posts: 111 Prairie Dog Heaven, CO | I think sfalexi has the same problem that I have. I have multiple playlists on my touch. On the touch you can only set the playback to random by selecting "shuffle" after selecting which playlist to play. So you do that for one playlist and ride off. Then, when you change playlists using one of the radio buttons on the dash the ipod seems to default to playing that newly selected playlist in order.
I have not found a way to permanently "set" my touch to random (like you can with a classic ipod).

Posts: 111 Prairie Dog Heaven, CO | Don't think so as mine plays everything in alphabetical order (artists) no matter when or how the songs were added to the playlist. Any iPod that has a fixed "shuffle" setting would probably work fine (I have not tried my classic b/c of the warnings about vibes and the HDD) but the itouch lets you only decide to play random at the time you start playing a playlist by either selecting "play" or selecting "shuffle".
Unfortunately the default is "play" and that's what's selected when you chose a playlist via radio button on the dash of the Vision. |
