Posts: 160 Camas Washington | I just bought a set of these for my 2011 VV. I thought it would be an easy mod but when I went to take off the existing stock tips by removing the 3 bolts, only the outer chrome cover came off. The internal black piece looks like it is one long solid unit. What am I missing??? |

Posts: 160 Camas Washington | Its a new 2011 that comes standard with stage 1. You can take the chrome tip cover off by removing the 3 bolts, the center guts (black pipe) is part of the exhaust from what it looks like. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Since they made the transmission quieter on the 2011's and made the exhaust a little louder and throatier, I wonder if that changed the entire stock muffler setup? The only exhausts prior to '11 that you couldn't change the tips out on was the Stage 1/Level 2 units that were all one piece. Riverdawg, call your dealer and ask if the Gatling Tips will fit on a stock 2011. If so, you are missing something. |

Posts: 160 Camas Washington | To my surprise when I looked at it again, the center of the stock exhaust tip has to spot welds on it attaching to the pipe. WTH is that all about |

For those unsure about the 2011 exhausts:

Posts: 3204 Memphis | Wow Peter! I thought they were just a couple of little tack welds. How did you break those? Tips look great! |
