I was looking over the info for the installation of the Kuryakin 4710. I have not started the install yet, but I have a question before I start.

I still want to be able to convert between trunk/no trunk. How should I tap into the wires to be able to do this?

From the download of the install guide I got from here, it looks like the author of the install guide connected the Kuryakin 4710 to wires on the bike side of the trunk harness.

What do you all think?

Thats how I did it on my bike. You wil have to have a new wire running up to one of the trunk lights for it to be used as turn signals too. When you hook the controller output side up to the wires that go to the trunk lights, just use quick disconnects or an actual plug.

I used a trailer connector set which allows quick disconnect. But once I found how much visibility the lights added I've never taken the trunk back off.
