Posts: 199 Salt Lake City | Turned on the bike this morning to ride to work, but noticed the radio wouldn't turn on. I also saw that the screen was frozen, with only part of the "Victory Motorcycles" LED's working. When I turned off the engine with the key, the lights on the bottom of the panel that light up the radio controls stayed on. After several more attempts at starting and stopping the engine, turning the key switch onn and off, I still have the same problem, and the radio lights won't turn off. I have an '09 Vision Tour. Any help? |

If you're beyond the factory warranty, the extended warranty probably won't cover it. Luckily there is a company out there who has an exchange program that gets you an upgraded unit for an exchange price of around $175 plus shipping but you have to remove the radio yourself. I believe this is still only available through a dealer since you need a dealer account to do business with the company. |

| This is a KNOWN Victory problem so take it into the dealer and have them order you a new radio. The extended warranty WILL cover this repair IF you are on the extended warranty. What the extended WON'T cover is cosmetic repairs. Anything electrical or mechanical is covered.
As a side note they'll want to reflash the radio which MAY or may NOT "rectify" the problem (won't perminently fix it). If it does rectify the problem with a reflash, make sure you get a copy of your work order showing they did this reflash and that you REQUESTED a replacement radio. They like to reflash which in many instances will temporarily get the radio going, but it will reoccur.
As a side note you must have gotten an EARLY 09 with an 08/first run radio. |
