Posts: 102 Orlando | What is with the trunk (rear area) plastic rattle? Any ideas on how to fix? Took wife for her first ride today. She has likes/dislikes compared to the BMW LT we had. She says the side bags keep her from using the back of the floor-boards (wide). The Victory backrest has an adjustment screw that "hits" her in an uncomfortable way! All-in-all, she says that the BMW is more passenger friendly than the V V.

New kits (I think thats what I remember reading, although mine did not) also come with self adhesive felt pads to stick in strategic areas under the running light trim molding. .
Finally Songfan quieted his ride down a little by checking the screws in the speaker housings. See this thread.

You might look at the vision floorboard risers to give the wife a little more "move around" room on the floorboards if her legs are short.

| Hmmm, if the tour pak back rest bolt is in far enough that she can feel it, something is wrong. You might try a shorter bolt. As for the rattle? Good luck! There is a kit your dealer can get (free) that is suppose to quiet the rattle but I'm not sure how effective it is. The best remedy I found was to run to the hardware store and get some of the door foam stripping to fit into the recessed area that runs around the trunk when the trunk is open. You want the depth that sticks up around 1/4" above the recess, I think it's 7/16 but could be wrong (Lowes sells it).
Now here is something of a personal experience; My wife hated the Vision trunk/backrest initially. It leans back far more than a GW or Harley which she was use to. Sh told me it put the pressure right square on her tailbone (very bad, lol). Anyhow after a few weeks of riding and breaking in the seat, she was much happier and actually liked the Vision backrest best. So long and short I hope the aforementioned remedies help you out and hope that some saddle time cures the other issues. As for the footboard issue, add the height blocks to raise the boards up some. Sounds as though the boards are too low for her. | |
