| Hey Everyone. We are new proud owners of an 08 Black Cherry Vision Tour. We came to buy one after breaking my hip in August, I was unable to continue riding our 94 Goldwing. It was a wonderful bike but very top heavy and put alot of strain on my hip. We did some research, did a test ride on a new Vision and fell in love. We hunted ours down, found it at Polaris West in Katy Texas. She has 10k miles on her and is in perfect shape except one thing, The cruise control. I have read other posts and don't see my exact problem and was wondering if someone could help.
My on and off swith stays lit all the time, it will dim a little when you push off and brighten up a little when you push on. The cruise worked for about 30 seconds on our ride back to Mobile Alabama from Katy Tx. but thats it, can't get it to do squat. Any ideas???? |

Not sure on the CC issue, but there is a way to run diagnostics which is described in the service manual. It is under Wiring/Lighting systems in the manual and you can get an electronic copy here. http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1924&pos...
Good luck with you bike.

Posts: 311 Atlanta Area | The cruise control module is located in a hole in the frame underneath the seat. The cruise cable and connector attach to it, it's easy to spot. Pull off the connector that is going to the module, clean with some contact cleaner and reseat it back onto the module... May not fix it, but worth a shot.... |

| There is a setup procedure or a relearn procedure for the cruise control. search here and at the VMC . I dont remember where it is. |

Posts: 447 Cleveland, GA | I don't think this is your problem, but I had an issue with my cruise control cutting out randomly. Found out it was my brake light actuator sticking, which left the brake light on constantly, thus killing the cruise control. I learned to hit my brakes repeatedly whenever the cruise quit, until it unstuck. Took it to my dealer, who cleaned the connection and it doesn't happen anymore. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Aside from the previous remedies, remember that there is a certain procedure for setting the cruise control. This is especially important for '10 - up models (Vision, C-Country, C-Roads).
Once you turn the cruise ON, wait 5 seconds (I've heard 3 sec and 5 sec. from different Vic engineers) before hitting the SET button. This is only needed when the cruise is turned on in order for it to sync with the speed sensor. Subsequent setting of the cruise SET button shouldn't require the delay.
