I talked to my dealer tonight, Randy's Cycles in Huntley, Illinois, and Randy informed me that my Black Vision Tour Premium has arrived and will be ready (with optional equipment installed) for me to pick up on Friday after I come home on Thursday from Puerto Rico where I am currently on vacation with my fiancee. I checked the weather forecast and it looks like the weather will be cooperating which should make the ride home nice and then I have the weekend to get the first 500 miles in so that I can get that out of the way.

It looks really nice Travlin'Man. I was up there today getting the 500 M. Service on mine and saw yours'. There's also a Cherry one on which the owner had all the trim pieces painted a silver grey similar to the grey Vision color and it looks really good.

I'm going to wait for any cosmetic changes too, for pretty much the same reasons. I've got a Midnight Cherry and though I like the appearance a lot, it does look just like all the other MCTP's out there and that's the most popular color. I was talking to Randy about it the other day and mentioned I had seen a website for a woman in Naperville who does painting and pinstriping and apparently is pretty good at it. Randy said she's going to be at his open house on 6-7 June. (http://www.signsbyliza.com). I'm considering something along that line, not too extensive or wild but just enough to set it off from all the other same looking bikes so I can spot it in the parking lot without having to check license plates.

I'm right now in the final process of cleaning up the '03 GL1800 Goldwing that I am trading in and when done in about an hour I will be on my way to pick up the new Vision from Randy's. Some Harley riding buddies of mine want to ride tomorrow out to Woodstock H-D, so I'll probably be there sometime in the morning, might even stop back at Randy's .........I'll be checking this thread again before I leave in the morning so if you want to join up post something here and I see about it.

I'm sooooo glad you guys up in Illinois are getting out of the house. I used to live just north of Peoria, winter, what a bummer. Anyway enjoy your new motorcycles, let us know what you think as you rack up the miles amongst the corn and bean fields of Ill-Ia. Oh, and it will be sunny and 80 in Houston this weekend, there is going to be some SERIOUS riding going on!!!!

Well, I'll be seeing you there, we've had a change of plans and I couldn't get out there to pick up the bike tonight, so I called Randy and told him I would be there when he opens at 9 am to pick it up. Then it's off to ride because I still plan on getting in the first 500 by Sunday night when the weather is supposed to turn back to rain again.

OK Travlin' man, we know you picked it up in spite of the jet lag and sleep deprivation. When you regain consciousness let's hear about it!

You are quite correct, I did take possession of my new Black Vision Tour at 10:20 this morning, I then rode solo to a friends house in Lake in the Hills (LITH) where my Fiancee was waiting for me and then we left with 6 other bikes (4 Harleys with 2 of the them being ridden by women) for a ride down to Villa Park for Wild Fire H-D's open house. After spending about 2 hours there to eat free food and for the women to do some shopping. From there we rode west out to Candlewick Lake (a gated community by Belvidere), then back to Crystal Lake for dinner at Portillo's and then back to LITH so my Fiancee could pick up her car. From LITH I rode solo towards home, stopping at a couple of my Goldwing riding friends to show them the new bike, one is so envious that he may be going to Randy's on Monday to trade in his '02 GL1800 Goldwing. When I finally got home about half and hour ago I put the Vision in the garage with the first 227 miles on it.

I have to say, this bike is far more comfortable than my Goldwing, plenty of usable power, enough storage for day trip but I will be adding the Bushtec receiver hitch once they are available so that I can tow my trailer on longer trips, the features are amazing, the dash at night is just amazing although I will be adjusting the headlight down as on low beam it's as if on high beam and on high beam it's lighting up the tree tops. Other than the headlight adjustment the only problem I seem to be having is that when wearing gloves I keep hitting the button next to the button I want to press on the left handlebar control, but that is a minor issue that will solve itself with use. I also purchased the Victory highway pegs with the bike and if anyone wants to buy them I will give them a great deal as I found out I don't need them (guess I should have ridden the bike first before putting them on!).

BTW, while at Wild Fire H-D I must have answered questions from more than a dozen people, all hard core H-D type of riders, about the bike, including showing them the HID headlight, the electric windshield and other features such as the iPod integration and radio settings.

I have found the perfect bike for me and that is no BS.

Congrats on the new ride. That's how a first day is supposed to be.
I sent you a PM as I'd be interested in the Highway pegs if you're gonna not need them.

Why TYVM for the compliment Keith.  I now know a color that doesn't go with Midnight Cherry and another that does.

It definately is cool to be a Vision owner and have neat things said about yer bike when ya haven't even picked it up yet.

The trim can be very flashy in the direct sunshine (depending on the perspective if the viewer).

We'll link up before too long and go for a putt.  For now tho, this waitin is drivin me further nuts.  A couple more weeks and I'll ride it home.  I hope.

Travelin' Man:

Don't act to fast on getting rid of the highway pegs. I thought the same thing until I rode in 85 degree weather last week here in Florida. If you want to cool off your legs and move some cooler air upward toward your body, the foot pegs are the way to go. I have to agree you really don't need them with the large floor boards, but they do give you yet one more position for your legs and the ability to cool off.

In the words of an on-stage icon, "Now that's funny right there. I don't care who ya are. If you don't think that's funny, there's something wrong with ya."
I've had other offers of the same nature; one guy wasn't even gunna charge me.
Kris R. offered to trailer it home for me, but I think I'll be able to ride it with a couple more weeks of phys. therapy behind me.

Thanx for the offer though. Nice to know ya care.
