| So I went out this morning to take advantage of a beautiful Saturday, hopped on my 2008 Vision (after a week and a half without riding), turned the key and... nothing. Totally dead. No lights on the dash at all. Figured I somehow left the trunk light on, or maybe the GPS somehow drained the battery, so I stuck it on a trickle charger and took my backup bike, a 93 Honda CBR 900 instead. Got home and and noticed the charger was still flashing the charging light but still expected the Victory to start right up. Turned the key and... nothing AGAIN! Totally dead.
Any ideas?

Salisbury, NC | Put a battery checker on it, it may have shorted (melted the plates together) the battery out by too much drain if the thing is over two years old. |

Fredonia, WI United States | I had the same issue one time (trunk light left on). The charger behaved the same way. But when I completely pulled the battery and put the charger on, it charged right up with no problems. |

| Are you using a charger OR are you using a battery Tender? A Tender will not charge it up and if you got it completely dead as it sounds you'll need a PulseTech charger to restore it with any lasting affect.
Now I'm sure someone will come along and tell me I'm wrong..... however I haven't changed a battery EVER in 40+ years of riding... Pulse Tech or buy a new battery, your choice. |

Jasper, MO | You could have a point about the type of charger making a difference Teach. I've got trickle chargers (that I don't use anymore-learned the hard way), battery tenders (good for maintaining batteries) and a regular bench type heavy duty battery charger. I've also got a little Optimate tender/charger/desulfator (pulse charger) that has charged batteries that none of my other chargers would bring back up. Mine is one of the older ones, maybe first generation. They're into generation four now. http://www.motorcycle.com/products/tecmate-optimate-4-battery-charg...
The Gen 3's are selling all over the place for $45 to $50, now that the Gen 4's are out. I paid $90 for mine about 10 years ago. It was worth it.
