Posts: 34 Encino, CA | I love everything else about the bike except the OEM exhaust note! My Honda Elite scooter sounded louder than this almost 1800 cc bike! I have heard a ton of things from a variety of people locally but wanted to reach out to y'all and get your opinions. I am ideally looking for a LOW rumble that gets loud mainly when you "get on" the throttle but easy on the ears at highway cruising. I have heard the stage 1 exhaust and dont think that it is loud enough for me.
Here are my requirements:
must cost less thank $1k inc installation (and it has to be installed by a mechanic because I cant do it myself) Prefer it in black but would accept chrome
My concerns are sound, looks, cost, and if I will need a power commander, how difficult will it be to tune the commander.
Oh yeah and I live in the North Los Angeles area and wont go to Cycle Dragon in Cerritos. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with AIP in Van Nuys?

Posts: 81 Salinas, Ca. | Well, thats besides the point! To hell with the law we Cali bikers say!!! If it were me i would go with the Thundersticks my friend! I am currently running Ness Big Honkers and although they provide plenty of bark, I would of much preferred to have gotten the Sticks after hearing them. I think they sound fricken awesome! As far as dealers go, the only place I know of down south is Pacific Motorsports and I dont know much about them.... |

Posts: 244 Fargo, ND | In my opinion, the Atom Bomb muffler mods (your stock muffler modified so the Gatlin tips will still work) sound much better than either the Victory Stage 1 or Stage 2, without being overly loud. I've had many comments on how nice mine sounds compared to other Visions. They have a nice deep tone but are quiet enough to still use our Scala headsets without issue.

Just curious what the issue was with Cycle Dragon. They've been very cooperative with me so far.

Posts: 58 Northwest Ohio | I will be taking my RPW double vision exhaust off my 09 soon. The pipe is chrome and sounds great. I think I paid like $650 or $700 for it. Make me an offer! |

Posts: 226 on the edge of Los Angeles | glenster - 2010-10-22 11:33 PM Anyone have any thoughts or experience with AIP in Van Nuys? glenster@gmail.com They have a good shop but I doubt they have much experience with the Victory lineup. They have an on-site DYNO so if you contracted with them it's possible they could help with any tuning issues. I have the S1 L2 pipes and the note is on the quiet side, What I like is they are not a muffler with a heat shield. Its a totally chromed piece all the way out to the tip. No parting line where the tips are put on either. You know the Victory truck is in Cerritos this weekend and possibly a chance to see what others may have installed if you dare to venture down that way. |

Posts: 34 Encino, CA | They screwed over my friend Victory John who is one of the main photographers over at The Rock Store...its a long story but they sold him some of their OWN pipes and then did NOT stand behind them when they made his bike STALL over and over !!! |

Posts: 5 Kalama, WA | Is there a chart or data some place that shows HP gains from the various exhaust upgrades and if they are top end or low end gains? I still have stock pipes on my Vision and want to get some more low end power. |

Posts: 92 Chandler, AZ | Another option you might consider, and not too costly. Arizona Victory (Tucson & Phoenix locations) does a modification to the stock exhaust, called the Arizona Slammer. They produce a really good sound, probably as good or better than the CFR's, and you still have the EPA stamp on the exhaust, for what that's worth. I don't know what they charge, but you might call them to get the details. They also have have a map to download for their mod. I was at their Phoenix location Saturday for Fuel It Demo and heard them on both a Vision and a XC - best sound of anything I've heard on either model. |

Posts: 34 Encino, CA | I just did a killer exhaust on my bike and it was basically free (except I had to pay the local muffler shop $30 to cut out the inside baffles) It now sounds better than any bike I have ever heard...all stock pipes and no change to the ECM or mapping required. Just cut out the inside of the stock pipes (leave the CAT) make it a large hollow tube and voila! VERY little backfire on deceleration as well...maybe 10% of the time which IO can live with. Oh yeah and change to a high flow new air filter. I plan to make a YouTube video or the sound shortly and post |

| Hi Glenster
Can you give more details on how to get the baffles out? Also love to see more on your custom backrest!
Thanks |

Posts: 244 Tucson , AZ | Big Honkers with open tips .. that will give you bike a great sound.. As for gains in the torque dept.. just about all the aftermarket pipes are going to increase the torque. The gains will be very close to each other. My advice is to go with the sound you like.. keep in mind, the tips will change the whole sound of the pipe... also add an intake filter. |
