Posts: 432 Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | I loved the Rocket I rode and if Triumph made a full tourer (factory fairing and trunk) I would have bought one. That said the Vision is the best touring bike I have ever owned and I had all the best. |

Posts: 262 Flowery Branch Ga | I recently bought a Vision 8Ball. The biggest complaint I have is that it's too quiet. Has more than enough power, and I get 40 or more MPG riding 2 up in the foothills of the mountains. Also, I ride nearly every day. The standard blade windshield is ok, but I'm considering a full one for the coming cold months. You will feel some heat from the motor on your legs. I just move my feet around on the very long footboards. The bike will get you alot of attention, so be prepared to talk about it to strangers. Overall I"m very happy with this bike. If it totaled for some reason today, I would put my name on the next one that came to my dealer. One of the things that I really like about the 8Ball is that I can add anything from the premium tour to this bike bike with out taking things that I don't want. I hope this helps in your decision.

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Jerry - pay no attention to those that tell you to go elsewhere. You can find all your info here without searching endless forums and chronic flaming.
I have a 2010 Vision 8ball and am continually impressed with this bike in terms of handling, comfort and the attention it gets. It's performance is fine for a full tourer but I think your Triumph would triumph (he he) in a race. The only recurring issues issues have been minor ones (a search of our forums will uncover them). Victory learned alot in the several years the Vision Tour has been out and they continue to update the bike. My 2010 is a case in point. The earlier Visions had small issues with the radio and hardbag fitment. These were resolved in 2010 and the bike gets good reception and the bags work perfectly. If I was looking for something to gripe about it would be the tranny whine in 4th gear. In perspective this is just a small annoyance and is no way a deal breaker. The tranny and engine are bulletproof. Victory has since redesigned the tranny for 2011 and it is substantially quieter and also include a lockout below a certain mph that makes it simple to find Neutral. The gears are now helical cut to reduce noise which now allows Victory to open up the exhaust more for a slightly throatier sounds and still comply with EPA noise reqs. My only peeves for 2011 is that they did away with the rear tipover protector (though it does give the bike a sleeker look) and they changed they way the gear indicator works. It now shows "----" rather than a gear (1,2 3, etc) when the clutch is engaged which I think is a mistake. Again, this is just cosmetic. The 2011s have now doubled the period between oil changes to 5000 miles which basically cuts you maintenance in half.
Handling is the Vision's best feature and you owe yourself to take a test drive and see for yourself. It's vastly different from your Rocket since the center of gravity is so low. I'd think you'll really appreciate how far Victory has come, even from the Kingpin.
Hope that helps.

Posts: 45 Jax, FL | Just got my '10 vision 8 ball two days ago at Ridenow in Ocala FL, I've spent a lot of money to make my '07 ultra ride as well as this bike does out of the box. today will be spent doing the 500 mile service. Jump on the 8 ball, the small saddle bags (compared to the cross country) will teach you to pack lighter. |
