I'm running a 195/50/R16 Falken Ziex 512 and have a hitch doc. Haven't had any rubbing. The downfall is the speedometer reads 3mph fast at 60. I thought the lower profile "50" would help lower the tire away from the hitch, account of the "195" width. I didn't find a 185/55/16 that I liked which would eliminate any chance of rubbing on the hitch. However, like I said "I haven't had any issues of rubbing". So I think my next rear tire size will be a 195/55/R16. Thomas |

Posts: 395 Moravia, IA | Im using a 185/55-16 Brigestone Potenza and Im loving it.
I have rubbing......even with the narrower tire.
....however when Im having rubbing issues im 2 up....at 550 lbs of people. Its not a function ot the car tire because I had rubbing issues with the stock tire. Its just a function of to much weight on a hard bump.
If you want to go the 185 route I HIGHLY suggest the Bridgestone Potenza. I gave $103 for it at the local tire place....they had to order it but it was only a 3 day wait.
You can read about the tire here.

I took mine to the local independent MC mechanic - he had no issues mounting it up. If you go to the Darkside Forums they have a database of places around the US that will mount car tires on MCs. Some places will flat refuse to do it.......some will make you sign a waiver.......others will just do it without any fuss.
Some have had great luck having an automotive place mount the tire (assuming you remove the wheel from the bike and just take that in).......so dont rule it out. |

Posts: 35 PINELLAS PARK, FL. | LIL VIC, I CHECKED WITH MY LOCAL VICTORY DEALER AND THEY SAID NO PROBLEM. THE COST WAS THE SAME EITHER WAY. LESS THAN $300 FOR THE REAR MC TIRE MOUNTED OR THE LABOR RATE FOR MOUNTING THE CAR TIRE. |

Do you think the trailer hitch hanging down from my Mustang's rear end detracts from it's clean lines and sportiness of it's design? |

I would stay with the stock size, if they make one thats the same size in a truck designation. If not you may be stuck with inferior car tires.
I would buy a hidden hitch.....thats what I use on my Vision, I just dont bother to take the ball out most of the time. They make one for your Mustang to.
