Atlanta Area		If it's the hole in the case I'm think of, it's for California emissions equipment that is not present on the 48 state bikes....

The Vic Shop - Central Iowa		Its probably where the suspension mounts on the steel frame bikes (if its the bolt hole I'm thinking you're talking about).
