Salisbury, NC | Last week I started to change out my rear tire. While I had it off, I noticed the belt had a hole in it. Since I had a new belt in waiting, it would not be a big deal. After looking at the rear sprocket , I knew I needed to replace that also. Whatever punched a hole in the belt had also chipped a couple of teeth. Thanks to Victory replacing so many rear sprockets because of the belt squeak, I picked up a almost new one for the price of shipping. The belt was not to bad as far as replacing it. With the tire already out from under it, I only had to remove the right side muffler and rear tip-over. I didn't have to mess with taking the pipes loose from the heads because there was enough room to take the bolts out of the front sprocket cover and slide the belt past it. Bolted everything back together and finished replacing the rear tire, it was good to go. I will say that having new tires makes the ride great again. With the Michelin Primacy having rounded shoulders, I have a better feel of the road compared to the Kumho that was on it. Most of the comments from the tire shop were good about the wear of the Kumho being that it was on a bike. They said that it looked like it was on a car. | How many miles did you get out of the old car tire? I can remember back about 30 years ago we built bikes with car tires cause we wanted a big back tire. We found a tire store that would cut the edges so it was a little more round. They use to cut tires cause they were not very round back in the day. With rounded edges we could corner a little bit better.
I am scared to run a car tire cause I really lean into corners maybe to much.
On a harley once I like you picked up a rock and poked it out and road another 10,000 miles before winter when I replaced it. I even road with Arlen Ness who had picked up a rock and split the belt. I don't know how many miles road it that way buy he didn't care it just looked cool. Might know he would come out looking good. |

North Orange County CA | Looks like the bike is being parted out. You might ask the seller how many miles were on the bike. Then again it is an 08, it may be a squealer. |

Salisbury, NC | Try Mike down at Victory of Cumming. The one he sent me looked almost new. And no squeals for now. As far as the last tire, it took 26,000 to wear it out. ET
