Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I have a couple of questions.
1. After you get the belt to track to the left side of the pully, how many revolutions backwards before you see the belt track to the right?
2. If the belt is tracking to the left and does NOT track to right when you spin the wheel backwards, which way do you adjust it?
I'm going to adjust it AGAIN today. I plan on trying something differant this time. I think it's moving or something when I thighten the axel bolt. This time I'm going to start from scratch. I'm plan on backing off the adjusters and pushing the wheel forward. Than snug the axel and leave loose enough to use the adjusters to pull it back. Hopefully after I get it correct nothing will change when I torgue the axel nut.
Thanks |

I give the wheel an eye and check the notch alignment, look down the belt and see if it is cantered coming off the pulley, and straighten by adjusting either side until it looks straight. This one side to another bit I have not figured it out, but given all the other alignment and the tension I have not had any problems after the looser adjustment came out. I used the gauge the first couple of times and did all the rotating and checking to get it to a science. Since then I just use my hand to check when cold. With all that said, I feel left out when people have problems with their belt and spend countless hours of either trying to do it themselves or taking it to the dealer to little or no avail. |

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | Thanks Varyder. The first time I messed with it I had the chirp that was getting worse. After a couple of tries I got it right. Track to the left and move to the right when rotated backwards. What a difference. All kinds of racket and vibration went away that I thought was engine noise. Right now I have no chirp or squeak, but the engine seems noisy again. |

From early exhaust leaks to "time to change" the oil chatter, it has its moments. When I was pulling Wolf Creek Pass I passed a Vic KP and it was just a banging away. Talked to the rider later and he had a lot of miles and had rode it from Wisconsin. But I figure it this way, as long as it keeps runnin' I'm not too concerned, but it does run quieter after oil changes. |

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I'm WAAAAAYYYY overdue for an oil change. It's gonna have to hold out till Friday. Usually when the clutch doesn't engage smoothly I know it's time. I'm at 6K and the clutch isn't grabby. |

| I wonder if someone that has mastered this would video it the next time they adjust their belt and put it up on Utube or somewhere that we all can see it and hear the advise at the same time Just a thought Mike |
