| I have a stock CB on my 2009 Vision with the stock headset. I use a flip-up type helment.
My buddies say that they can hear me fine when we are stopped on the CB, but when we are in motion they say my transmissions are garbled. I can hear them very well (Goldwings).
I saw one post that mentioned a different antenna, and tuning. Does anyone have suggestions other than a different antenna? |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | NC, the mic on this set-up is not good IMHO, and right now I don't have an antenna so I'm not using mine at all. I had some trouble with mine, but it was related to the mike and I got a newer one, under warranty and it was working good until the sock got torn up. If you are going to use your CB, see if you can first check they mics out, you should have two sets. Also, do take the time to check your connections and SWRs |

AMEN on J&M headsets......
+1. The J&M's are much better than the Victory headsets. For a cheap experiment that may help a lot, try cutting the neck off a small balloon and stretching the balloon over your windsock. (Old Goldwing rider's trick). If the garbling is coming from air pressure changes (wind noise), the balloon will help reduce the effect. For a little cleaner look, try these windsock sleeves. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?Item=WD

All the speakers are the same (so I am told from J&M - Performance vs Elite is just the cord difference), but the lower and upper cords are different. The cheaper ones are made in China and the more expensive are made in Japan. My wife has been thru two of the Chinese versions before I upgraded to the Z style. Order the Elite style headset and the cord below.
