About a month ago, I noticed a small crack in the lower portion of my Cee Baileys windshield on my 09 Vision. There is no evidence of impact.  It has spread and now it is roughly twice the length (~1mm).  I know with glass, windshield guys can fill it with clear epoxy under vaccuum and keep it from spreading.  Has anyone done this with these plastic windshields?  Should I be able to get it fixed/replaced under warranty?  Thoughts and advice appreciated.

Acrylic and lexan are a lot like glass in that cracks will continue to spread.

If you drill really small hole at the end of the crack you can dissipate the stress to a wider area and stop it from traveling any further.

You can then try to partially seal the crack with Weld-on #3 (available at most plastic houses and sign supply companies) which is a clear water thin solvent used to "solvent weld" or melt acrylic / lexan. If you decide to do this you will need a plastic syringe which is a squeeze bottle with a "needle" on the end as well.

DO THIS OFF THE BIKE - Weld-On is a very "hot" solvent and will ruin the paint and melt most plastics before you have a chance to say "oh crap".

If you drip a little on the shield DO NOT attempt to wipe it up just let it dry, otherwise you'll end up with a worse mess than you can possibly imagine.

The repair probably wont look any better than the crack but it will stop it from growing.

I'd contact Cee Bailey.  They will probably send you a new one.  Great company from everything I've heard.

Agree; Cee Baileys is the best! You can fix the crack as has been suggested, but I would first contact Cee Baileys. I would be surprised if they didn't help you out.
