..."Always make sure your iPod (no matter what version) AND Vision sound system have up to date software. You can get the most current software for your iPod on line, and for your sound system from your dealer (as has been mentioned before)"....

I have all the latest versions for the Vision sound system software and IPod but still have this going on.

I have an 08 late in the year run of the bike but none the less I got the crappy radio and antenna combination which I can live with because I have a gazillion song to keep my Nano happy....and as I told my wife the other day when riding...I couldn't imagine taking these great rides we do on beautiful days and NOT listen to tunes that keep you smiling.

Anyway...I can go for many songs on the IPod playing just fine but then out of nowhere it will lock up....the song title will disappear from the bike display and the AUX will show up...no music. I can just let it be and the songs come back but will I will now also be getting repeated lock ups like that. Sometimes they come back right away?sometime not!

Seems to help that when I can stop...disconnect the IPod...reboot it and plug it back in. That seems to work for a while and then I get the gremlin showing up.

I got a bad feeling it's a symptom of the crap radio...I ask my very good dealer when I see him...what's the latest on Victory fixing our crappy radio problems we got with the 08's. He always says don't hold your breath....ain't nothing coming to us lemon radio holding fools!

Any thoughts?..?

This happened to me a few times before I bought a small case for my iPod Nano that I mount with Velcro (the 3M stuff that holds better then Velcro...ScotchLock I think) to the side of the glove box. I used the same stuff to mount the Garage Door Opener to the lid of the glove box upside down.

I hope this helps.

May have a cable going bad or the port on the I-pod going bad from all the vibration.

Vinner1 When I got my 08 in 2007 I had the Ipod Nano 3rd gen. Same thinks would happen to me. Lock up, fiddle with it, it would come back for awhile. I started putting electrical tape at the connection to the Ipod and cable. This helped. I finally got tired of the Ipod, got Sirius and a 8G MP3 player and have never had any issues. I'm not one that fiddles with the songs, Classic Rock, 700 songs, shuffle, works great. But try the tape on the connection. Happy tunes on down the road!

Mine first two did that for a while before they fried, turned out to be a bad cable.

Ya, mine does it too. Seems like it always has. Sometimes it comes back on it's own sometimes I need to "reboot". Kind of a PITA but I have just learned to enjoy the silence and listen to the bike hum down the road until it wants to work again. If it takes a full blown siesta on me I just turn on the XM radio until the next stop.

Thanks everyone for ideas...I'm going to exchange the cord out and see if that helps...also made a little shock absorbing holder that keeps the plug in straighter...fingers crossed.
