I have 2 questions:

1) What Apple Ipod is working the best for everyone? I know it must be a flash one, not a hard drive one.

2) Did I read somewhere you only need the Ipod hook-up cord to work the Ipod, or do you also need the $89.00 wiring harness?

My $10 MP3 player won't advance to the next song. It also eats a brand new AAA battery in less than 2 hours. I could have spent that $10 on lotto tickets.

Thanks
Herb

I know my 80 gig hard drive iPod has siezures on occasion, so I am going to try a 4 gig nano. The cord required is $40.00, and it replaces the headphone cord the bike comes with. Unless they upped the price on the cord from $40.00 to $89.00??? That is quite a jump!

iPod Nano gen 2 I heard works fine without the update, gen3 requires the update which should be covered as a warranty/recall issue. The only thing the iPod needs is the "iPodĀ® Power Cord & Console Link", it can be found here http://www.purepolaris.com/Detail.aspx?ItemID=2876116(PolarisPGACat...
for $39.99

The Victory 2008 catalog states that part number 2876143 is required if you get the I-pod cord, that is not true. I returned my 2876143!

My bike was built in Dec. 07 and I am guessing that it already had the firmware update for the 3rd gen ipod. Mine works great and I haven't had any issues. My advice is to buy a 3rd gen ipod (about $150 for 4gig and $200 for 8gig) and also the ipod cord. I bought mine from the dealer for about $45. The cord allows you to change playlists and tracks and also charges the ipod at the same time. Works great. If you have issues with the 3rd gen then have your dealer install the firmware update.
