I am sure it's the battery, but some strange things happened that I have never seen on a dead battery.
I turned Key on originally and only the Green "N" Gear Light came on nothing else.
Plugged in a Battery Tender Jr. Trickle Charger and it is not solid red and not blinking fast like it is not charging. It is red, but blinks lightly about every 1.5 seconds.. If I disconnect it from the battery it blinks fast showing it is not charging.
I let it charge for about 30 minutes, turned on key and Windshield went to the up position by itself. Still just a Green N.
Anyone see something like this before? Maybe a bad cell in the battery?
Going to leave the Battery Tender on over night and see what happens.

New Bohemia, VA | Disconnect the battery and give it a charge that way. Two things will happen, you'll get a good charge, and you'll reset your electronics and hopefully that will cure your issue. |

Chattanooga, TN | Also, when you reconnect your battery, you may get a better connection which some bikes have had issues with. I think there is a service bulletin about that. |

| FYI....the Battery Tender Jr. is not designed to fully charge a completely dead battery. You will require a slightly larger capacity charger to attain a full charge. |

Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | It was the Battery - Bad Cell. All connections were tight on the old one. Guess I had better #1. Ride it More, or #2: Keep it on the Battery Tender. Some cooler weather coming soon down south so Option #1 sounds better. |

But, feel free to connect the battery tender every time you get off the bike at home. Sounds like a pain, but it's like sending the battery to the gym when you are not riding, it just makes it stronger and won't hurt it in the least. On the other hand not plugging it in is just like you and I sitting on the couch all evening every time we are at home. Sitting without a full charge is not good for any battery. Just a 15 second thing you can learn to do that will make your battery a lot more reliable out on the road. Good riding! |
