I've got an 09 Vision and I want to install the ipod cable so I can access my music on the fly. I don't know where to start to remove the dash cover etc.

I pulled the radio to change my cable. After I was done I realized that was not required. I believe if you remove the grommet in the glove box there is enough slack to pull the wire through the hole until you get to the connector.

I have a 2009 Vision and recently changed the original cable to iPod. Piece of cake and I am not mechanically inclined.

Pulled the MP3 cable by loosening the grommet and exposing a connection after a short pull on cable. Loosened green clip with small screwdriver and unplugged, holding onto the cable from the bike. plugged in the iPod cable and clicked the green cable lock. Pushed the wire back in and biggest problem was getting grommet back in.

Plugged in my iPod and a miracle. immediately the song plaing showed up on the screen, was able to page back and forth between signs with the tuning switch on the left handlebar. Always set the iPod to the mode you want (playlist, genre, etc). The it is an absolute breeze with the bike taking care of the rest.

I really should start reading the directions first. What fun would that be?

It turns out to be cheaper, reading the instrucions saves things from going boom....sizzle....smoke....
now if they just had instructions for women.......

WHAT? Your woman didn't come with instructions? Ask the mfg. (mother in law) for a copy.

Teach. One of our fellow Vision riders post the simplisity of the ipod cable instalation, he was right. I was astonished! It only took 5 min. remove old gromet, pull old cable out to expose connection point use fine narrow blade straight screwdriver pry off old reconnect new cable. Feed cable into postion install new grommet your good to go!

Why upgrade from the cable in the glove box to the ipod cable? How much? which part number is it. I still need to find a way to secure the ipod in the glove box. Mine has frozen up twice and i think it is bouncing around in the glove box.

I use velcro. Stick to the back of the I pod, and the side of the glove box. No bounce, and easy removel.
